KCCC and Curl Junkie Smoothing Lotion?

Hi All!

I'm a 3C/4A. I recently did a semi-big shop and I'm new to the world of curly haircare. That being said, I quickly discovered that I LOVE LOVE LOVE Curl Junkie products.
I want to know if the KCCC I just purchased will work well using CJ Curl Assurance as a leave-in (or even a rinse out)? Am I setting myself up for a head full of chunks? I love the moisturizing properties of CJ conditioners, but KCCC also seems like the business...
Does anyone have any experience using the two together?

im still trying to figure it out myself. curl junkie products go a long way, im seeing you dont need much of these products and i have become heavy handed with products unfortunately. when i put assurance in my hair, it seems like it grows and i end up with, what appears to be, too much product. so, im not sure if im putting too much in or if its too heavy for my hair. would love to hear from others on this.

are you talking about the curl asssurance leave in that has an orange smell? i found that when i used the right amount, it was perfect. too much, and not good.
do you know that this has been discontinued?

not sure which one the original poster is posting on but I am referring to the curl assurance lotion. I think its new. it smells like vanilla

oh, do you mean the smoothing lotion? i love it!
it does say curl assurance smoothing lotion on it. here, we refer to it as smoothing lotion, otherwise it gets confusing with the old curl assurance leave in.

how much are you using? It seems to get get more creamy and expands if i put too much in

Hi Ladies :hello2:,

I *was* referring to the smoothing lotion. I've been meaning to try this combo all week, but I haven't had the chance. I gave KCCC a try on Monday after rinsing out some CJ Curl Rehab and I've had the best hair days of my life. I'm on to 3rd Day hair, which is something that I've really never had before, either curly or straight.
Can't wait to see what happens with the Smoothing Lotion, but I'm not even sure I'll need it. My hair still feels really moisturized.

P.S. Thanks for clearing up some of the terminology, rbb. It's hard to keep track around here sometimes!

rbb 05-18-2011 11:27 AM

you're welcome! it is hard to keep track, especially amongst some of us who have been here a bit!! lol
(actually, don't know why marsha kept the 'curl assurance' and 'beauticurls' names on the newer products. i guess it's meant to kind of keep them in a group, similar????

as far as how much smoothing lotion i use, hahaha! every day is different. but for the most part i first use a leave in, then use the sl as a styler. i use about an inch diameter in my hand on underneath bottom part, then another inch diamter on top. i scrunch it into my hair after i blot the excess water out. i have also used it on dry hair, works well. we all use products differently, you have to find what works for you. and, most of us even change it around from day to day.

Oh ok, that is very good to know. its not good for me as a leave in but i may try it as a conditioner and maybe even see what it does as a styler too. thanks!
