Curl Junkie and Jessicurl
I just commented on another post and thought i would throw it out there on a separate post. In my journey of finding products I am realizing more and more about how important ingredients are. Im noticing that curl junkie is very rich and filled with oils and butters, which I LOVE. However, i have low porous, fine hair and tons of it. I am also very heavy handed when applying products (im working on using less product). Is it possible that curl junkie may be too rich for my hair or is it me applying too much? Or do I need to alternate curl junkie? The products are not absorbing well and maybe the oils and butters are coating my hair rather then absorbing, i dont know but i can see beads of products on the hair strands.... Also, I noticed jessicurls products absorb pretty good in my hair but its not as rich as curl junkie. Is it me or is this common for my hair properties? Anyone else run into this?
BTW, Daily Fix is awesome!

I'm kind of new to this, but in general I would say less is more. Over-conditioning is the worst. At one point, I was using about three different CJ conditioners (because I co-wash) and gel. I could see excess beads of product on my hair while it was air drying (which was slightly embarrassing). My hair felt incredibly soft and smelled like heaven, but it was also incredibly frizzy.
Our hair types sound kind of similar. I think my hair is low-porosity too. I'm doing much better now with minimal amounts of product and a weekly routine that includes deep conditioning and natural oils when needed.
That being said, I haven't tried Jessicurl. I did find that Jason Natural conditioner was a good daily condish, but I'm still really pleased with Curl Junkie. I guess it all depends on what your routine is like.

yea,im still new as well. my hair is hurting from all the experimenting im doing, lol. i noticed you use CJ assurance lotion as a conditioner. I tried to use it as a leave in but it turns into a creamy mess. maybe i will try it as a conditioner only. since we may have similar hair, what kind of stylers do you combine with leave ins? i have devacurl products im using up.

My hair properties are completely different but I too tend to be heavy handed with products. I've cut way back on leave-in and the amount of gel. I hate when my hair gets that super producty feeling, plus it just looks weighed down.
I do find CJ products to be more moisturizing. The only Jessicurl product I like is the Rockin' Ringlets. Didn't really like the Too Shea condish because it felt like it never absorbed into my hair.
The only line I'm not sure about is Marie Dean. Most of her products seem to be way too heavy for my hair, which is not easy to do!

My hair is fine and low porosity, too. I use minute amounts of any product and it takes HOURS for it to absorb. You really do need to cut down on the amount of product you use.
My hair didn't care for Jessicurl, it made it limp and lifeless in only a week. On the other hand, Marie Dean is one of my favorite lines. I've use at least 24 of them and there are only two I wouldn't repurchase.
