It has a lot of useful info. including some simple self analysis tests to help determine your hair's properties. It also offers a hair analysis where you can send in a sample of your hair and have it analyzed.

Texture is important because it will tell you if your hair needs moisture, protein, or both. Porosity is important because it will tell you if your hair has a hard or easy time absorbing and/or losing moisture and products. Elasticity...well, there's not much that can be done if your elasticity is low, like mine, except for grow out all the damage and see if it helps. But it does help explain how your hair holds its curl.

The analysis/product recommendations service is worth every single penny, IMO.

I agree with the two posts above. Once you have a better understanding of your hair's properties, you will have a better understanding of your hair. Also, not many of us figured out what our hair likes overnight. I've been CG over six months, and I still haven't figured a whole lot out. I definitely know my hair better, though, and know how it likes to be treated. The main thing I've learned (among many other things!) is that I just can't give it enough moisture! Experimenting is also key in determining what your hair likes and dislikes. For example, you won't know if your hair likes humectants in winter if you don't try using both humectant-containing gels and non-humectant containing gels.

Mainly, don't worry. You'll get there. I used to think the same thing, but a better understanding will come with time. It's kinda like getting to know a shy person. All that knowledge of them (and your hair) takes a while.
