A light, non-aloe based gel or jelly?

Hi! Just wondering if anyone knows of a light (or medium-light) hold gel or gelly product that is not aloe based?

I am not a fan of heavy or strong gels (leave my hair too producty and hard). I've been using Styling Hair Jelly from Wholesale Essentials and I really like it (it is basically aloe with some vitamin b and preservatives/thickeners tossed in). HOWEVER I recently bought and will be using daily Spiral Solutions curl enhancing Jelly...which is also aloe based. When I use the two together it's just too much aloe for my hair, I think.

So basically what I'm looking for is:

- light or medium hold (similar to the Wholesale item, if anyone knows it, but a bit stronger than SSCEJ)

- Non aloe-based

- CG friendly

- cheaper would be very good (bit strapped currently) and on the ground would be good too (again, shipping costs)

Anyone??
I would like to hear suggestions for this also so I am bumping this thread.

I would also be interested in non-aloe based gels that aren't necessarily from a drugstore, although of course, cheaper is always helpful. Thanks for all ideas.

ETA to the OP: La Looks Sports gel isn't aloe based and works great on me. It isn't light - but since the first ingredient is water, you can lighten it by wetting your hands and mixing the gel with the water before you apply. Lots of posters like it a lot. You can get it in any drugstore, it's CG and incredibly cheap.
2/c and some 3A. Modified CG.
Protein sensitive
Highly porous. Color over grey.
Best 1st day method: Super Soaker
Conditioners: Curl Junkie Beauticurls Strengthening Conditioner,
Deep condish: Curl Junkie Curl Rehab
Stylers: Mix Curls in a Bottle into everything for shine. Terrible pj
Sometimes try roller sets - classic glamor but I prefer my curls.
Every day is a gift

Ecostyler also has a variety of holds.
I recently purchased this one. It has about a medium hold. I really liked it. There are three gel type products in this line, the curl boost curl activator is 'cone heavy (I used to use it before CG, and it was pretty amazing), the spray gel has alcohol and a water soluble cone. I just tried this one last night, air dried and my hair was only slightly crunchy, it SOTC'd completely, hair was very soft and didn't feel producty at all.

+1 on FSG! That's a GREAT gel/jelly/curl enhancer type product. Two other creamy gel type products I've come across recently are LOOB (L'oreal Out of Bed Texturizing Cream, which I've been liking recently) and Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Curl Cream. I don't think they have aloe in them. That's all I can think of for now -- but the FSG was a GREAT idea, Curlykey! Thanks for not letting us forget that one.
Type 2c/3a with lots of hair and a super sensitive scalp! Med/slightly coarse texture, low porosity and elasticity.

I didn't get that with this.

Thanks for the replies!so based on these answers and another thread, I looked for la looks and eco styler at a couple drugstores but all the ones they had were mega, super, ultra etc hold, not sure they would work for me.

I went to whole foods and found the upper management gel and bought that. Played around with it last night and today and i really like the effect; soft, more natural-looking, kind of "messy" hair but in a good way the only thing that is that the curls are alot less defined but that's to be expected. I might try adding more gel next time.

I think I'm also going to pick up la Bella lots of curls, which sounds like it may provide more definition/hold but still be soft.

4a?? Maybe 3c...some 4b??? No clue
