Default My hair is still awful. Help!

So after my appt with the curly hair 'expert', it's still not working. It doesn't curl like it used to, my products don't work in my hair like they used to. I tried a mousse thinking my gel was too heavy, and it doesn't do anything for my hair either. I can't afford to go get another cut, and I don't trust her to fix my hair. The girls hair that she cut before me looked awesome, so what happened? Could my hair be in shock? I'm sick of crying over bad hair days and putting it up in a bun because it won't do anything. ( I'm also 7 months pregnant, and my husband is deployed right now- so that doesn't help my emotions- but still...) Any suggestions? None of my products have cones/sulfates.

When I was pregnant, my hair was AWFUL. I ended up cutting it all off - not a reaction I would recommend! My hair eventually returned to normal approximately 6 months after I finished nursing. Hormones can do a real number on your hair. When it was at it's worst, I had fuzzy pieces, wavy pieces & straight pieces. Even the texture of my hair changed; it was really dry.

If I were to recommend anything, I would say just to be good to your hair: DT's & good products and not to do anything rash. Your hair will get better when your hormones calm down. Between the hormones & the stress of being pregnant while your husband is deployed, you have lot on your plate. Be gentle with yourself & your hair & give it time! Be thankful that you are able to put your hair in a bun. When my hair was wonky I wasn't able to do anything with it. I really regretted cutting it. It didn't make it any easier to deal with; it was just short.

Good luck to you

Totally agree with everything said above my post^^. Hormones play a big part in every aspect of your body, so naturally, hair wouldn't be an exception! Definitely just treat your hair well, do a lot of DTs... what other products do you use?

I use Giovanni. The tea tree conditioner as a co wash- and the smooth as silk as a regular co. I found a dt/pt by ion that I like- I use mirra gel, or herbal essences curl activating mousse.
