Im trying to do a modified CG (I have to shampoo my scalp if I use any styling products...otherwise it gets really icky). Ive tried putting one c on my hair, then just using low-poo on my roots, then putting one c all over...and not rinsing out all the way. Why does my hair feel dry? I thought it was the Angell or the SIF so today I just did the one c and air dried and its still dry
If I put angell or SIF on my hair I HAVE to shower the next morning b/c my hair is all gross feeling and its very tangled (even though I braid it loosely before bed)
When I was using Thermasilk shampoo and conditioner I could wash and air dry...then sleep on it, and spritz with water to get a second day out of my hair. I switched to CG b/c my curls pull out easy and Im trying to get bigger curls w/better clumping (and not so stringy).....yet my hair felt so much better with the 'cones
fine hair with botticelli curls according to my stylist
currently trialing devacurl low poo, one c and angell
Sounds like you wash your hair too often. Also, it sounds (and correct me if I am wrong) as though you are using OneConditioner AND Low-poo at the same time.
I have been doing the curly-girl thing now for a few months and I love it. But it took some getting used to (and it took a while to get used to it). It didn't perform as my other products did (I had relaxed hair), although I understood the difference and why.
As per the OneConditioner and AnGell: I use them both, concurrently. I am not sure that I would walk out of the house with just the conditioner, though. I am not sure that just conditioner would lock in moisture. That's what I use the AnGell for (as well as styling and clump retention). My hair is always air-dried.
The 'Cones: Well, if it feels good, do it! If you are getting everything out of it that you want and expect, go for it!

I'd give some other products a try but I would think that one c would be too moisturizing on wavy hair so I wonder why your hair did that. See if other products give you the same results because your hair may just not like one of the ingredients in deva products. Did you try shampooing less or doing the full CG routine for a few weeks? It takes at least that long for your hair and scalp to get used to it so it may actually work for you
Hmm? I think I might have to go back and reread my copy of Curly Girl! I can't remember it saying to layer conditioner and shampoo. Either way, I don't think that I would want to walk around smelling like peppermint.
How long have you been doing the CG routine?
