Chagrin Valley Shampoo bars

I stumbled on this website for natural shampoo bars and being the huge PJ that I am I want to try them. I have a lot of questions about it and was wondering if you guys could help me out since I've seen that quite a lot of you use them....

1) Do you really need a ACV rinse after using this bars or will a conditioner suffice? If so, at what point during the washing would you use the rinse?

2) How have they worked for you? What difference do you see in your hair?

3) What advantage do you see to these as opposed to low-pooing?

I was looking at the Ayurvedic HerbShampooBar . Have any of you gals tried this?

I hope to hear about your experiences

For me, yes, but we have very hard water. On wash days (once or twice a week), I wash with the shampoo bar, rinse with diluted ACV, and use a RO conditioner (I let the conditioner sit for a few minutes while I shave). On non-wash days I just use the RO conditioner.

2) How have they worked for you? What difference do you see in your hair?

No real difference from other gentle shampoos, but my hair tends to look the same no matter what I wash with as long as my routine is the same. My hair is very healthy but color-treated.

3) What advantage do you see to these as opposed to low-pooing?

I switched to shampoo bars as part of an overall switch to more natural health products. I feel better about what I put on my body now. I feel like they get my hair cleaner than just co-washing.

I've used a few different ones and have had generally good results. I tried the conditioner bar and didn't notice that it was much more moisturizing than the regular ones. I find the scent doesn't really matter because you are going to kill it with ACV immediately!
Natural soap/shampoo bars were really popular on the boards about four years ago. I had been cowashing for six months and it took me a few months to try the one I got free with a henna order. All I can say is WOW. I've used them every since. Only used one CV bar and only once. It was a BIG problem for me. If that was the first bar I used, I would have never used another. I was finally able to narrow down the ingredient my hair HATED. It's the castor oil. I can't use it in hair products (unless it's PEG modified), either.

I used to do an ACV rinse after each use. There was a lot of discussion whether or not it should be before or after the conditioner. I originally did it before, but eventually did it after. I got to the point where I stopped doing it. The purpose of the ACV rinse is to restore the pH balance of your hair. Soap is alkaline, hair is acid. I got to the point that I felt that the products I use have the proper pH, so I stopped doing it. I do get my hair cut every six weeks, so that may also influence the decision. My hair is so healthy, that the shampoo guy won't use conditioner on it when I go for my salon services (he just doesn't "get it.)
