Default Pictures! 3 weeks into CG!

Hi curlies! Thought I'd share some pics of how my hair is looking after 3 weeks on CG. I'm really happy so far. It's much less frizzy and much shinier than it's ever been before! Believe it or not, this is actually 3rd day hair!

Really nice! It looks very healthy.

on a side note, you look so much like another poster that I haven't seen in a while on here. I almost thought it was her when I saw your pic.

Your hair looks great. I've seen fantastic results from the cg method on looser curls. Does this method produce the same type of results in black hair or tight curls?

My hair is kinda weird in that i have loose curls on the top and the curls on the bottom form into these wide but fairly tight corkscrews. So far the CG method has worked pretty well on both parts of my hair. It feels so much healthier and much lighter without all the silicones I had in it before.

I'm going to give it a try I started today with my clarifying cleanse then tomorrow I'll co wash. Hopefully I'll see the same kind of results you have.

CG stands for Curly Girl and is a method of caring for curly hair without using damaging sulfates or silicones.
This site: The College Curly: Laura Lee's All In One Guide to Going CG: Now Revised and Updated! has a lot of information on it and was where i got started. It's definitely made a big difference in my hair. I never knew it was possible to have non frizzy hair without loading it with silicones which made it greasy but my hair is almost frizz free and looks better than ever!

It takes a while to start seeing results. For about the first three co-washes I was a little disappointed but I kept at it and eventually my hair responded. I hope you have luck with this method too! I thought at the beginning, "Well, it can't hurt to try!" and I'm so glad I did!

will it help wavy hair? My hair is 2b and frizzy. I've been using shampoo bars but my hair is so frizzy and dry!!! So if you use a sulfate free sls free shampoo is that just as good? So to do the CG method you just use a natural conditioner and scrub you scalp then wash that out and then do a leave in? How often do you do the co wash? Thank you so much!!

I usually co-wash my hair every 3-4 days. I follow the cowash with a wash out cream conditioner for extra moisture. After I squeeze as much water out of my hair as I can I use a leave in conditioner while it's still dripping wet, followed by scrunching with some gel. Then I plop it and leave it in for about an hour before letting it dry natural the rest of the way. It takes a few hours for my hair to dry completely so I usually wash my hair at night. This is the routine I found that works best for me. You can start with something similar and tweak it depending on how your hair responds.

OMGosh, your hair is looking fantastic! I remember replying to your first thread -- it's awesome how far you've come already! Keep up the great work, because your hair is looking AWESOME! BTW, I love plopping, too! It works awesome on my hair. I'm glad it's working so well for you, too!
