I don't know your hair properties, but I like Shea Moisture Raw Shea Moisture Retention. VO5 and Suave Coconut thecurly1 mentioned are conditioners, so you could use them for co-washing.

These products are all cowashes - conditioners used to wash the hair. Low-poos are shampoos that do not contain harsh sulfates. Some low-poos that people like are:

Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat (GTTTT) - this is my favorite, but be sure to check the ingredient list. The formula was changed at one time and some bottles contain Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, a harsh sulfate

Deva Curl low-poo

Renpure Organics ( different varieties - found at Walmart, Walgreens, etc.)

Back to Basics shampoos

Abba shampoos

I'm sure there are others that people like. These were the ones I could think of off the top of my head.

HTH!

Do you want Low Poo, or CO Wash?

Low Poo = Queen Helene Mint Julep Shampoo, Sally's. Dilutes to 1 GALLON!! Awesome stuff. $4

CO Wash = Salon Care Sparkling Apples & Pears Sally's. Also 1 Gallon. $8

Both have protein.

I am protein sensitive but I don't have any problems with Curl Junkie Daily Fix Cleansing Conditioner. I really love this one!

I do have problems when I use Devacurl no poo and low poo.

I live in Florida so I take a shower every morning and evening.

I wet my hair and then massage biolage conditioning balm (Sally's gvp generic version) as my "shampoo". I do this morning and night.

I use the Curl Junkie Daily Fix Cleansing Conditioner once or twice a week instead of the biolage.

It is confusing getting to know what works best for your hair! I check this site everyday with my questions.

I strongly suggest getting a curl analysis if you haven't already. I wish I had done it sooner as I spent a lot of money on products which made my hair frizzy and giant!

TJ Refresh works well for me. It has a light citrus scent and removes a-cones and waxes. At around $2.99 a bottle, it's a winner!

This website allows you to send in your hair and analyzes it and tells you your hair properties: texture, porosity and elasticity. These things are very important when you want product recommendations and guidelines.

You need to experiment to figure out how often to low poo. Most wavies low poo about once a week. Some low poo exclusively and a handful cowash exclusively. You should use a low poo when you need it, but not more often.
Trying products does get expensive at first. Start with cheap stuff until you start to get an idea of what works for your hair. Another option is to buy samples. Kathymack sells samples and several companies have samples too. Check the travel section of your drugstores too. Sometimes there is CG stuff there. Target has some travel sizes in their natural products aisle. HTH

The curl analysis really helped me get a better handle on how to care for my hair. This is the site where I found the hair analysis (I think it was posted in an above reply - not sure)

Live Curly Live Free - Home

Yes, I see that the link above takes you right to the site (I did the one with product recommendations)
