Hair closer to the root lacks curl definition.
OK I posted this on Shampooless, but thought someone might have tips in this area;
So I have been on CG Co-wash for approx. 2 mos. now. My curls look great and my hair is silky and shiny. Not to complain but what I notice when I take a mirror and look at the back of my curly head is this:
Very close to the roots I have lots of great curl but maybe one or two inches out it is kind of straight, possibly damaged. What I am thinking this is-- is from past rubberband and ponytail abuse, not to mention barrette overload. So is there anyway, other than to baby it and give it love that I can gain some of that curl definition back without silicones or perms? I am kind of stumped as I know it had to be from pulling it too much and ruining the cortex, and cuticle of the hairshaft itself. I would at least like to kind of fake it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
