I'm frustrated-feel like I'm always thinking about my hair!

This sounds silly, but even since going CG I found the less I do the better results. I go through phases of overthinking & trying WAY too many products. I truly think it's become an addiction to some sense.

I have those 'whatever' days and I get great results.

For example- so often I'm 'scared' to touch my curls, but I find I get bigger\better hair if I mess around with it throughout the day & have the "careless" attitude.

I could write a book on this topic but as I listen to the Pres talk about pulling troops out (yay), I'm just going to stand on a super small soapbox...
properties-3 a\b, very fine, medium density, normal porosity, normal elasticity
low poo- GTT, 50\50 or whatever I have at hand
RO- CJBCS, TNVC, Suave Coco
Stylers-FSG & BRHG
PT (twice a week)-CJRM, Ion Reconstructor, SSPT
I feel the same way. I got so sick of my hair that I cut it off. Whoo! I don't necessarily recommend that. But i do feel better about my hair and about life in general when i'm not obsessing.

Yes, hair can become a hobby of sorts. That's why the hair care industry is a billion dollar business.

I tend to think less about my hair then I use to because I have better hair days now.

3b, Medium-Coarse (slight coarse charactericstics), Normal porosity & Low elasticity per Curl Wizard Profile.
Low-poo: Nourish Shampoo
Co-wash: Suave, Vo5, HE, Aussie Moist
Deep Conditioner: GVP Conditioning Balm
Leave-in: Nourish Conditioner (Trader Joe's)
Stylers: LA Looks Sports, Coconut Oil, Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil.
Methods: Wet plop or pineapple at night, diffuse in the morning. Scrunch w/joboba, coconut or almond oil.
Yeah, it sure has turned into a hobby. I think some of my problem is I have too many good products right now (lots of CJ rotating). It's like "eany meany" & I seem to plot which one I'm going to use next or I just use too many of them at once.

I think I should stop buying products for awhile (or at least try!)...

Keeping it simple (just using LI, oil, and gel) is working so well for me this summer that I've almost been forgetting to even think about using any more stuff! I found that layers were making my hair look producty and not letting it "breathe," so I am saving the curl creams and FSG and such for the winter, but I was crazy tempted to just see what a little LOOB would do under my La Bella gel. But I chickened out. I go from one extreme to the other -- overthinking things to letting it be so as to not mess with my succes! I've also been wanting to try some FSG this summer, but most likely I'll need something over it, and there we go again with the layers! Ugh, I should just stick with what's working. It'll be less disappointing that way.

I just found this site last week and have a new obsession! Yes it includes my hair, obviously, but it is to find a recipe to home make a conditioner with readily available ingredients.. fruit, seed, nut, vegetable extracts, oil, whatever, but no weird chemicals that I need to order.

It all started when I saw the WEN commercial a while back. A month ago I decided to try it out and found that although the product does build up on my hair, the CG method is no doubt the right way to go.

Now all I want is to have 2 homemade products that cover all the bases... a great daily conditioner I can co-wash with and a styling product.

The FSG is AMAZING and I am overjoyed to have found it and am eternally grateful!

Now, if someone can lead me to the right recipe for conditioner I will publicly cyber-kiss their feet!!!

All the recipes I'm finding are for deep conditioners that you need to leave in for 20 minutes or they contain all kinds of unnatural stuff.

Is my dream to find a recipe for a natural cowashing conditioner unrealistic?

OMG! You have the prettiest hair! The color is beautiful and the curls are what i wish to have!
However i understand what you're thinking. I worry way too much about my hair! Im always asking my parents, "is my hair poofy!?" Lol. Maybe you should try not touching your hair, and it may look better. Its the oil on your hands that cause your hair to frizz up!
Good luck!
with alot of curlies, less is definitely more..and i also think using less of the right products goes a longgggg way opposed to using too much of the wrong product and it blowing up in your face..i definitely feel ya though, sometimes i actually dream about what i'm going to do to my hair the next day, which products i'm going to use, etc, etc..i know..sick, right?? i agree with Marci Pie, hair can definitely become a hobby/obsession..*sigh*

I've always been kind of obsessive about my hair but ever since I went (mod)CG, I've gotten worse!!! I always feel like I can get some decent results for a while but they never last. Even worse, I always want to change the length of my hair. Sigh!!!

SusieSuze -- a user on here named IAgirl makes her own homemade conditioner, like you're looking for. You might want to PM her -- she has a whole recipe and everything! Good luck -- I've always wanted to make my own conditioner, too!
