Default Interesting conditioner discovery ..

I did something that worked extremely well yesterday and today and thought I'd share. Sorry if the topic title sounds like I found a new conditioner !

I've been using VO5 Tea Therapy to cowash with and GF Curl-n-Shine lately to condition. After co-washing, I put a big glob of the GF in to condition. I noticed, as I always have really, that my hair tends to absorb it and doesn't feel like it's too much. I thought, hmmm .. let me add more, which I did. My hair felt smooth and I decided to leave it all in. I'm talking about 2 huge blobs, not just a little.

I'd decided to try Ab-Star and Bailey's combo of Re:coil and Joico Ice Whip (that's what I have), scrunched with my mf towel and air dryed. Holy smokes! I had soft, shiny, bouncy curls/waves/ringlets and the best part was that my ends were defined unlike how they usually are. Plus I had volume which I definitely need.

Today I did the same and with the exception of putting a tad too much Re:coil in, have the same good hair day . All that conditioner left in doesn't weigh my hair down although my hair looks longer. I'd put up some pics but my digital needs a new battery or something.

I think leaving in a ton of conditioner despite the fact I have fine/thin hair is a must for me. I've always worried about overconditioning but was frustrated that the ends of my hair always ended up being a fluffy mess. I can't wait to try this with my other products.

Hope this helps someone else .

I bet this time of year you need the extra moisture. I had been going light on conditioner because I get weighed down but yesterday I accidentally over did it and had a great hair day. So I repeated today, left some in and then used a leave in over it and a medium gel to the stronger side and I have great hair again today.
You watch tomorrow I'll need less now that I have this down.

I wish your camera worked because you know I want to see! I'm glad for your good hair day with or without shared visual

LavendarCurls - are you leaving in the GF rinse outs? I definitely need more moisture this time of year, esp when the humidity is so low. I don't think I could leave that much in my hair, but I do use my heavier, more moisturizing conditionrs now, that's for sure

In fact, both the GF leave-ins have been too heavy to actually leave in my hair, but they're making GREAT rinse outs for me I've never tried the GF rinse outs, although I have the one for fine hair that doesn't have any cones in it - just haven't gotten around to trying it yet (it'll probably end up being a good summer one for me)!

Thanks, and yep, I know what you mean about having an "accidental" good hair day because of a boo-boo and it'll need fine-tuned the next day.

kjwavy, I've been using the conditioners (not the leave-ins, although I do use them sometimes). My hair just seems to eat the stuff up.

I have had good luck with using the conditioners and rinsing most of it out, then using the matching leave-in as my styler.

You know, I bought Joico Ice Whip a couple of years ago after starting CG and just didn't have any luck with it. I just chalked it up to another mousse my hair didn't like. But now I see I might have to give it another go while I'm still in the land of PJ heaven.
