For my last haircut, I went to Cally at Toujours. Since then, she has started her own salon called Curls and Company. I want to go there to get my hair cut before my vacation on Friday. I called to make an appointment tomorrow (Thursday) and found out she doesn't work on Thursdays!

So the dilemma is, do I go to another senior stylist who has no reviews to refer to, or wait until after my vacation? On the one hand, my hair is getting a bit out of hand (down to my waist) and I've been thinking about getting it cut shorter (around shoulder length). On the other hand, this stylist is an unknown. If I don't go for the haircut, I'll probably have to give myself a trim (nothing drastic). Any advice?

Is tomorrow your only choice? Can you get in another day? I would wait if you are making that big of a change. If you go to another stylist, I would only get a trim, not a big cut. HTH

I'm a pretty impatient person especially with my hair so I'd probably just go to the other stylist and hope for the best. But that's just me!!

Well, that was clear as mud! Thanks, curlies . I think I've decided to put it off till I return from my vacation. My husband's advice was just as helpful--he said what's the worst case, you don't look so good in trip photos? Well that is pretty lame. I just can't see waiting all this time to get the big chop and then taking such a big chance on an unknown stylist. Vacation pics be damned!

Your hair looks fine now in that pic, so it will look fab for vacation just as it is! Schedule your appt for when you get back with that stylist (Cally). Have fun on vacation! We're leaving tomorrow night!

I think you made the right decision. I'd NEVER go to an unknown stylist for a big change like that. I probably wouldn't go for a trim, either--but I've been lucky and gone to my stylist for over 30 years. Good luck with the BC when it happens!
