How do you use your Milkshake?

So I've been thinking of purchasing this. Sounds like it'd be a great product, however I'm confused on whether it's a styler, a leave in, or both. I contacted Mahisha on product suggestions for my hair and I asked her was it okay to layer whipped cream over Milkshake and she said no, stick to one styler, but from my interpretation Milkshake's just supposed to be a damn good, heavier leave in, not a styler. So, I've decided to ask ya'll how do you use your milkshake? How do you bring all the boys to the yard? lol. I'm sorry corny but had to say it.

As for me I want something that weighs down my 3C/4A dry hair, but defines, defrizzes, elongates, moisturizes, and has a good bit of hold to it. Apparently the milkshake claims to do all this but have hold. If it doesn't have hold then what am I supposed to use?

I know there are a lot of threads on the milkshake already but I'm getting sorta mixed reviews, don't worry I plan on purchasing a sample anyway before committing to a full size for 15 bucks.

Hi Heather

I use milkshake as a leave in and then use Spiral curls cream overtop as my styler. I get great curls this way. Milkshake elongates my curls and sprial cream gives it the hold I need.

It was my interpretation that milkshake can be used as either a leave in or as your styler. But it doesn't have enough hold for me. I could be wrong though. Maybe someone else will answer.

everytime I use milkshake i sing that song. Can't help it! I don't even like it. My husband thinks i'm crazy

I use it alone, its enough. If you want something to weigh your hair down and elongate your curls, a leave in product isn't what you should look for. Maybe the creams or goddess glaze are a better option.

I love the Milkshake and use the CurlyQ version ($12). I typically use it on day 2, and mix it with a little Confident Coils (for more hold); homemade frizz pudding (to stretch it and the 2 together give clumpy hold); on top of a leave-in like Robert Craig, CJ Hibiscus/Banana or Devacurl Set it Free (or a combo of these). The reason I mix like this is to actually use LESS product. The Milkshake combined with the above helps clump my curls and smooth the feel of my hair.

If I use the Milkshake alone as a primary styler/leave-in, I need to layer with either a bit of Confident Coils or a gel; don't need a lot of either. HTH
