conditioners not tested on animals?(:

Hey guys! I haven't been active on here in such a long time..... But anyway, I've been using the same conditioner for a while. That one from Sally's, the conditioning balm or whatever. It's pretty good and very moisturizing! However, I think I should switch it up.
Any suggestions on conditioners that:
-don't test on animals
-moisturizing of course!
-easy to find (i'd rather not order online)
-oh and no 'cones!
THANKS! And I'm sorry if this is in the wrong category, like I said I haven't been on these forums in a long time!

The Yes to Carrots, Cucumbers, and Tomatoes conditioners don't test on animals, are nice and moisturizing but light, are found at Target (and some Walgreens), and are CG friendly! Those are the only ones I can think of at the moment, but they are total HG's for me!
Type 2c/3a with lots of hair and a super sensitive scalp! Med/slightly coarse texture, low porosity and elasticity.

I love Nature's Gate's products. The henna and hemp conditioners are great, and I like the pomegranate sunflower conditioner too but it's not quite as thick/moisturizing. Organix is alright too, and I swore they were cruelty free, but I'm googling it right now and can't find anything about it. But maybe they just don't mention it on their site, because I'm 99% sure the back of the bottle says it's cruelty free. If there's a Meijer near you, they carry both brands. C:
If you have a Whole Foods store nearby, Alaffia's beautiful curls line is cruelty free and doesn't have cones. I use the leave-in conditioner for wavy to curly hair, it's moisturizing without being too heavy.

Natures Gate is also good. If you CO wash, White Rain brand does not test on animals or use animal based ingredients. I usually find it at Walgreens. V05 is labeled as not being tested on animals, but the parent company (Unilever) does.
Type 2b. Wash: WEN pomegranate or fig. Leave-in conditioner: Alaffia beautiful curls for wavy hair, Spiral Solutions Protein spray. Style: Curls In A Bottle, Ecostyler, or KCCC.
Just to clarify, White Rain now has 'cones and isn't CG.

Oh wow guys thanks so much for the replies!

I've never heard of the store Meijer, so I'm not sure I'll be able to find Nature's Gate, but I'll keep my eye out for it! And whole foods is far away so sadly I don't go there very often): But if I ever do I will definitely take a look at that brand!

So I think I'll look into the Yes to Carrots/Cucumbers/whatever brand since I've seen that all over the place! Maybe a light conditioner would be nicer for the summer anyway? And also do you recommend a particular one, or should I just try out any? Thanks(:

I started a thread a little while back about which one people liked best and why, and all of them got mixed reviews! I think the Carrots was the most loved, then the Cucs (better for coarser hair -- fine hair seemed to get weighed down with it), and then the Tomatoes. Almost everyone seemed to dislike the Tomatoes. Here's the thread, so you can compare hair properties and stuff and see which one you think you'd like! I've only tried the Carrots one, but I haven't tried the others -- I don't want to mess with my success!

Yes to....

Oh, and to answer your other question, it's light, but moisturizing, so it doesn't weigh hair down but is nice on the slip and hydration and other stuff. Great for fine hair, but my coarse hair is pretty fond of it, too!

Desert Essence conditioners are great and they don't test on animals. They have several formulas and you can buy them on discount vitamin websites and at health food stores.
Ooh okay thanks! I'll look at that thread.
But I bought the cucumber one (although it's for color treated hair, which mine is not..) and so far I like it! I've started using gel again with it though, which I haven't used in a while and the combo really gives my hair some shine and more curl.

And thanks!! I'll look out for the Desert Essence one!

Have you seen our new and improved product search area? You can search for products that are animal-friendly, etc. It's pretty cool!

I just tried the yes to cuc. today and so far I love it, no frizz like I seem to get from the carrots. I use as both a rinse out/leave in. It's been a while since I tried the carrots so I may revisit in the future since I loved the scent and alternate the two.

I use the tresemee naturals, the moisturizing and there's one for like softening or shien or something?

both work well with my hair and i'm anti animal testing too.
I'm 15 now but I don't get on often so I may be 67 by the time you read this.
My name is Sarah.
I come on here when I want hair advice because if you type in "curly hair" anywhere, all you get is advice on how to curl it. I used to get on here a lot when I was like, 12 or 13 (and first figuring out how to stop straightening my hair without being bullied), so if you happen to see some older posts of mine, shh. No judging.
