how to get more lift at the roots?
my hair is pretty curly but the curl doesnt start til about ear length .....what can I use to get some volume at the roots? My hair is fine, is bsl and has some layers (fwiw when my hair is chin length there is no curl at all so I dont think its from the weight of my hair)
I just has 3-4 inches cut off and its still flat on top |
have you tried plopping? I can't do it myself, because my own hair is too short, but with your length, it's worth a shot. Try it at night while you're relaxing so you will know the next morning if that works for you. I have to fix my hair EVERY day since it's so short and really gets funky if I try to sleep on it and have 2nd day hair. It's annoying, but your length gives you the opportunity to plop AND pineapple.....

I have tried plopping, but in the morning not at night. Interestingly I was told by my stylist tonight that I should not plop that I should step out of the shower, scrunch hair with paper towel and let it just hang to dry (i think she said plopping would increase the frizz).....I'll have to try both while using the same products to see what works best
and what's a pineapple? |
Okay, if some of you long haired beauties out there are reading this, and I get it wrong, I'll take my whacks along with a better explanation.
I think a pineapple is where they wrap their hair around a loose ponytail at the tops of their heads so as to preserve that day's beautiful curls to release unto the world tomorrow....a lot of girls sleep on a satin pillowcase but I don't know if that really does anything for a pineapple..... make sense? |
I'd like advice too please! The top 5-6 inches of my hair is just fluffy, and I already plop and pineapple

I'd recommend plopping/ using the clips while airdrying or diffusing upside down. That's all I can think of right now. hth
