Default arc angell

just fyi for you guys, but i was not at all impressed with deva arc angell, it made my hair feel like straw and it was very sticky/gunky. wonder what type of hair likes this, because mine sure doesn't.

repeat after me, arc angell is awful everyone hates it, must send all bottles to medusahair...

Part of how it feels on the hair is how much conditioner you use under it, how much water you leave in and how much gel you use. It makes my hair feel thicker and holds my curl well. But like all things it's not the favorite of everyone

Speaking of Arc Angell and gunky, I got my first gunky day with it today. I scrunched out a bit more water than usual, thinking it would hold better that way since it's raining off and on today. I also smoothed on some of my leave in conditioner rather than use my regular leave in or just skip it altogether.
My hair was absolutely fabulous until I hit that wall of humidity outside. Myhair is curly and in place but my hair is a bit gunky right on top. I rarely need conditioner there so I just lost my mind today on the conditioner.

Beauty without cruelty leave in if you use a real small amount is nice under Arc Angell though.

I learned my lessen today yeah buddy!

My hair isn't think at all, and I hated it too. It made my hair feel dry and producty. It was also stiff but the hold didn't last, and I had lots of frizz. It's like everything that could go wrong with a gel got put together into one. I don't know what it is about it, but my hair hates this stuff.

My hair loves this gel. I use very little of it though, which I do with everything. My hair can't handle more than just small amounts of product.

Yeah, all products sure don't work for everyone. You gotta look until you find what fits you.

Do you like gels with good hold?

My hair isn't keen on AA either, sadly enough. I can't put my finger on it, but the results I get are a bit similiar to what bailey posted. I just don't feel like I can rely on it for a good hair day because I never know what results I'm going to get from it.

Some other better hold gels, not necessarely strong, but not wimpy:

Nexxus Phyto Organics Emphasis Redifening Gel
Batia & Aleeza Bio-Herbal Mineral Sculpting Gel
Paul Mitchel Super Sculpting Glaze
Magick Botanical Frangance Free Gel
Biosilk Rock Hard Gele

But maybe you have tried them already.

I really like AA, but after a few months it stopped working for me. Also, it made the edge of my ears really sticky (weird, I know). If I didn't wash them off, they would stick to my pillow at night.

I love it.
I get the nicest curls with little shrinkage when I use AA with OneC. And its very touchable. No gunk at all.

I do need something on top of it for hold like JoiWhip.

I did try boots with it once and my hair was a mess.

I didn't like it either. It made my hair like straw. It gave good hold tho. I also have the angell and I'm going to re-try it in the summer and if I get the same results - then no more trying it.
I stopped using SIF too. It made my hair all gunky. Didn't do anything for the curl, just gunked it all up.

I liked Arc Angell once I tried using a lot of it. But I didn't like it better than, say, Aura Hypoallergenic or HE Set Me Up to be worth the price. I blew through over half a bottle in a week, which is just not cost effective.

I can't seem to get consistent results with this gel. I have about half a bottle left, and if I haven't figured it out by the time I finish it I won't be repurchasing. I have had some *great* hair days with it, though. And my hair feels nice and soft, not to mention the incredible smell... I'm actually having a pretty good hair day with it so far today, I'm thinking it might be good for me in cold, dry weather. We'll see...
