Trying to decide between CJ creams
I'd like to order either the CoffeeCoco cream or the Guave cream (the one without protein), but can't decide which one. Have you any of you tried both of them, and if so, how were they different? Are they more like leave-ins, or are they actually styling creams with moisture? I keep trying to compare them, but they seem so alike. I don't want one that will weigh my hair down, that's for sure. Is one of them more curl-enhancing than the other? Just when I think I've made up my mind, I get all undecided again. Not to mention I'm trying to decide on if I should get one of the CJ dt's or just stick with Jessicurl. Anyone?

I have both the CJ curl creams and I like them both. For me the Coffee Cocoa seems to give bigger, clumpier curls and the Guave tighter, more broken up and defined curls. I prefer the CC myself but the difference is pretty darn subtle.
They are definitely styling products with moisture...I think of them as providing a bit of curl enhancement and a bit of hold but not much. If you need hold you will probably want to add a gel. My usual routine is leave in conditioner, a little bit of Phytodefrisant or Curl Keeper and then the curl cream, all on soaking wet hair. I then turban my hair (which is short) for 10 or 15 minutes. I then pull off the microfiber towel, clip my bangs back and let my hair air dry.
I don't find that they weight my hair down at all but while my hair is quite fine I do have a lot of it and I have a lot of natural volume.
I hope this helps

Thanks memes, that was super helpful! Now the only problem is, your descriptions are making me want to order both!

I would email the owner if she still has the link. She was very helpful and honest with me. Her recommendation was the Coffee Coco Creme or Intense Protection Leave In - Fine after using the Deep Fix. I asked about the Guava Creme and she thought it might be too heavy for my hair. I get enough winter hold from the Coffee Coco Creme and sometimes combine the IP Leave In with the Coffee Coco Creme. I liked the Banana Honey Leave In but the owner admitted that it might fade my color. I find both stylers moisturizing but I think the Coffee Coco Creme seems to enhance curl a bit more than the IP Leave In.

She really is very helpful in directing to the best products for your individual hair. Some of her info to me was surprising but very accurate per my experience. I love interacting with owners who want to help so much (Jessicurl, CJ's owner, and CHS' owner come to mind) and see that it's instrumental to customers liking/buying their products. Nothing like great CS!

Lush get the one without the wax in it. Guava has beeswax. Unless you've used their leave in enough to know your hair is fine with it that is.
I've heard some super stuff about the Cocoa one.
I wish you were close I'd give you my guava to see if you liked it. Why'd you go and move out of the country???
Good luck with whichever you get!

Ok, to throw a wrench into the works for you, Lush
I am loving the Curls Milkshake (or the Curly Q's Milkshake) I have gotten tons of hair compliments with it. It eliminates frizz, tones down the bulk of my hair, gives good clumping and moisturizes. I use it in place of a conditioner in wet hair. I don't think I added anything over it. You can use something with hold over it though....like SIF or a light weight gel.
Just a thought.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, miacurl, but the Curls Spiral Cream thread as revealed the Curls/Curly Q Milkshake just changed ingredients rradically.

I'm back in the land of hair products right now see, that's why I've been able to go out and try all these HE gels. I'll be around a bit longer, definitely not looking forward to going back yet. I think you're convincing me on the Coffeecoco one though.
miacurl, I'm going to forget you even posted that about the milkshake. :P

you're in the states? Yay, you can bring back tons of hair products oh and shipping to you would be normal yay!
Well I have the guava if you want it but the other one has no wax so it's at least devoid of that.
I hope you brought a big suitcase for all the hair stuff!

OMG you must be having fun!
Well, I was trying to not respond to this thread because I don't think our hair is product-compatible. For me, the coffee cocoa cream just didn't work, even though I really really wanted it to (it's coffee! and cocoa!). The low or no protein guava creme worked great for me (but the smell got to me after a while, which is just me). My HG is the hibiscus banana leave in for fine hair, I've been using it daily for some time now and liking it more & more.
I think the 2 cremes have a similar texture and consistency, the cocoa one might be a teensy bit thicker.
