I recently did a hair analysis and for curl creams one of the creams they recommended was Curl Junkie Coffee Coco Curl Creme Lite. If you have tried this can you give me your thoughts? How does it compare to Recoil or KCCC? I have used both of those and get pretty good results but find they can be a little greasy especially the Recoil. I assume I would need to use a hard hold gel with it such as BRHG


The analysis said I have Fine hair texture (but lots of hair) with normal porosity and elasticity. It said I need a cream cream free of nonwater soluble silicones with additional protein support and very light emollients.

If Re:Coil is too greasy for you, CCCCLite you may not like. It is more moisturizing, and does have a silicone (water soluble and has not given me trouble used occasionally). I don't like CCCCLite much as a curl creme (it smooths wonderfully but relaxes my hair some and usually I like it bouncier) but I love it as a product to use after scrunching out the crunch of gel, on dry hair. Used like this, I find it holds back frizz and helps the style to maintain longer.

It smells really really really good too.

I use CCCC Lite (see my signature). I haven't used the other products you mentioned so can't compare. I do fine with the CJ Curl Queen gel which is a medium hold, but I do the "Consistently Awesome Hair" technique originated by smasters - apply gel as normal to wet hair, then dry to 50 to 80% and apply more gel. I concentrate this second application on my ends.

It seems from many that this weighs their hair down? I would love to know what products you have found to use instead that enhance the curls. I am looking for big chunky bouncy curls....of course!
