DevaCurl Purchases

I live in a rural-type setting-- and I was stoked to find that a salon opened recently that carried the DevaCurl Line of Products.

I have been Modified CG for about 5 weeks--
trying different things on my Hair.., including the Suave Coco for the CoWash, a few different Organix conditioners as a "leave in" I knew they had cones... Microfiber towel, and some suave 8 Max Hold gel-- that I love and also the Blue LA Looks 10 Gel..

today I got a wild hair and went to take a look at this shop- I was stoked to find that they were, in fact, carrying the DC line-- and the CG books laying around the shop ...

again.. this is a huge bonus to me.. living in this rual area.
so we got to talking.. and I told her how I have been "modified" CG for about a month.. and was planning on growing my hair back out...now that I am trying to go natural... etc. she said.. and as far as I know.. she is correct... (They are the only ones in the area, trained to cut curly hair) and she offered to give me a "Curly Cut"... and I could sit down and she would do it right now... *bonus*
hmmmm... I said OK!! I said I really didnt want lenght taken.. but said she could "shape it up" as she saw fit....
I had never had my hair cut as a "Curly" before.. but I have seen the videos.. she basically did the same thing I had seen ... so I thought how fun! (and no waiting)LOL
I had just never thought about getting that done until I really had let it grow out some...

Didnt take a whole lot of time... but I can see a difference in my Hair...the way it lays.. and I am sure after it's wet, it may change a little more.

so anyway... I did end up getting the DC Trial package (just in case my hair doesn like this)
... with the No Poo, OneC and the AnGel and a MF DC towel.

I was talking about how the DevaFuser looked interesting.. and how it was sold out the few places I did look at online... she "thought" she might have one more.. and went to the back and pulled out a brand new box that had the devafuser and the Set it Free Moisture lock. SOOO.... tomorrow am... I can hopefully give these products a try and see how it acts on my hair. I am pretty excited... *grin*

It is a little pricey... compared to what I had been using... but I am going in with an open mind... just wanting to see the difference it could have on my hair.

soooo...with the Hair Cut- -I did spend 45 bucks.. But for that I got the Bonus MF towel.. and a trial size of all 4 products and the Devafuser. I consider that a deal.. and no shipping and I didnt have to wait for it to arrive via mail! not bad for a overcast otherwise boring Monday at work!! LOL

Anyone have any shared tips to give a Newbie to the DevaCurl Line? Any and all Tips would be much appreciated!!

I LOVE DevaCurl No Poo and the Low Poo. I've tried their gels a couple of times but haven't really experimented with them enough since I have some that I love already. I have a friend who uses and loves the ArcAngel. The OneC was good but I prefer other conditioners. The only way to find out if you like them is to try them out. The trial set is a perfect way to test them out. I also like the Set it Free, love the scent too. I use this on and off. I like it best as a final product on still wet hair.
Do tell us how you like them.

Thank you curlykey!
So what products do you like? Just curious, me being the newbie. I was playing with that devafuser and really like it! The shape is really nice compared to conventional defusers.

After a month of using the deva curl products....I LOVE THEM! I am using the low poo as the wash, on the scalp...it really feels clean after using it, tingles the scalp, too. I then use the OneConditioner and clip the hair up while I finish my shower. Then I cold rince this out a little, hair flipped over, under faucet. I then scrunch in B-Leave in and scrunch scrunch. Then because I don't really love the smell of the B-leave in I take a teansie bit of Garnier sleek and shine leave in conditioner and do a final quick scrunch. I use the turbie twist and hold my hair in there while I brush my teeth ..etc. take the hair down and scrunch in the arc anGel and done! ..in an hour or 2 when the hair dries.....I use Set it Free and it looks amazing!

I know the stuff is a bit expensive, but I don't really use that much of it, and it works! I have graduated from the little trial package to the big bottles now...filled the trial bottles up and they are in my camper...lol!

Now I need my hair to grow back out....lol. anxious to see what it looks like longer....as I have kept cutting it all year, when I was still fighting the curl....its an amazing feeling to be at peace with my hair!!

Instead of dreading getting up everyday and fighting my hair...I look forward to it!
