When I was taking biotin, my hair grew in a lot thicker and stronger. My nails grew really strong too...

you need to take biotin with another b vitamin. You can take it with your regular multi. Some people have had horrible skin as a result of it. I have experienced no ill effects--my skin was clear when I was using it.

Oh, and I didn't measure the growth I got. I figured it was just the same as always, but it seemed to grow faster...

I take 5000 mcg biotin per day, along with vitamins B6 and B12. My stylist and I both noticed my hair has grown faster than before. Also, I lose less in the shower. My dermatologist recommended it to me when I went to him complaining of excess shedding, and it really has helped. It has not bothered my skin in the least.

I have used Biotin supplements on and off for years and I'm honestly not sure if I ever noticed a difference in my hair growth. It never broke me out though. I'm now taking MSM supplements and I think I'm noticing a difference. :afro:

Btw, if you're also interested in investigating some natural, topical treatments for promoting hair growth, here's a link to some info on burdock root. https://anitagrant.com/index.php?pag...shop&Itemid=41
She includes a recipe for a burdock root & honey/agave hair rinse.

I'm also working on growing my hair, so I've been looking into lots of different things to help that along.

I used biotin before for damaged hair. It caused my hair to grow faster and healthier.

I would recommend it..I believe you'd be pleased.

Oh, sorry. Guess I don't know how to put links in replies on this forum. If you go to anitagrant.com, look on the lefthand side for a button that says "Herbs for skin & hair". Click that, and scroll down where you'll see burdock root. Within that description is another link that will give you more info about the root the recipe for the hair rinse.

P.S. If you do end up trying out burdock root, please post what you think about it. I'm really getting into investigating different botanicals to use in hair treatments now that I've gone naturally curly. I'm currently testing out marshmallow root and horsetail, but burdock is on my to-try list. Thanks. :)
