I absolutely adore the Moisture Retention Shampoo. How'd you like it??

Wavyone -- I just used the SM Moisture Retention shampoo today. And, OMG, it was amazing!!! I am totally sold. If it doesn't make me itchy, this is totally going to be HG status for me. I don't yet know if or which extracts make me itchy, so fingers crossed that my scalp reacts well. I didn't even use any oil on my scalp or hair before I washed it today. And it feels great. That is a HUGE deal for me!!! My scalp and hair are normally so dry, and if I don't do any type of scalp-oiling or pre-washes, it feels terrible and dry and refuses to curl correctly. I got great curls today, and I didn't do any of that. It gave a fairly nice lather, and it cleaned very nicely. It seems to have passed the "flake test," since I don't appear to have too many/extra flakes. That always makes me happy. When I massaged it in and rinsed it out, my hair felt BEYOND soft, and no shampoo or low poo has ever done this to me. Not even CO-washing has done this to me in a good way. I almost felt like I had just put conditioner in my hair. WOW!! I don't know if it was from putting the Smoothie in my hair or what. But I love this shampoo!! Only downfall is that LOVE it so much, so I'll probably go through it quickly. I need a bigger bottle, ha ha!
Oh, and I also tried the Smoothie again as a styler yesterday, and I'm completely sold on that as well. I love my hair now! I will have to upload pics of the difference between the first use of the Smoothie and the second use of the Smoothie, when I added the shampoo. I did my styling routine a little different yesterday. The first time I used the Smoothie, I mixed it in my hand with some LOOB and scrunched upside down, added more and scrunched this way and that way, and flipped upside down again and scrunched more. This time, instead of mixing the Smoothie and the LOOB together every time, I just scrunched in some extra LOOB last time I scrunched. I got lots more hold, so my curls didn't fall, and they remained bouncy the whole day, whereas last time, they were dragging somewhat by the end of the day. My hair WAS a little softer last time, but that's ok.
Type 2c/3a with lots of hair and a super sensitive scalp! Med/slightly coarse texture, low porosity and elasticity.

Yay! Interesting about the smoothie. I've had mixed results with it. I use it now mostly to SOTC and that is working well. I want to try it as a DT sometime. Hope the 'poo works out for ya!

I've been thinking it would work well to SOTC! I might have to try it that way one time instead of mixing it with my LOOB! It is SO moisturizing that I bet it would work well for a DT or rinse-out. It's so AWESOME. I can't believe that it made my hair that soft and moisturized. I have INSANELY dry hair. Not even tons of oils and conditioner make it soft, but this did. Weird, but I'm cool with it!

Omg, I love it for 2nd day hair, too! My hair is constantly dry and never gets it's fill of moisture. The Smoothie is SO helping with that! Your 2nd day routine sounds similar to what I do on the first day -- mixing the Smoothie and the LOOB together and scrunching it in (but Smasters style!).

DEFINITELY tell me how you like the low poo if you get it! It's ridiculously awesome stuff. Super moisturizing, too!

WNW, do you use a gel over the smoothie and LOOB? Also, do the shampoo and smoothie have protein?

The Smoothie has Silk Protein, but it hasn't seemed to bother me much. I LOVE the Smoothie, so I hope the protein doesn't start bothering me. I don't think the shampoo has protein, but I could be wrong.
