Sebastian Curl Weightless Curling Gelee-One Hit Wonder

I tried a new gel today, Sebastian Laminates Curl Weightless Shine Curling Gelee. It's only day 1, but it gave me piecey definition much like B&A gel does, had a jelly-in-water texture that was easy to distribute, is low on frizz, and boosts my curls some. Now it was more expensive per ounce than the B&A because it's only 5.1oz (around $13-14 for that). But at least it's local for that "eikkk, I ran out of B&A gel" moment. It also seems to be a little more humidity-friendly than the B&A (rained a lot yesterday and, while cool, the air is still a little moist).

water, pentylene glycol, ethoxydiglycol, panthenol, hydrolyzed wheat protein, hydrolyzed jojoba protein, hydrolyzed wheat starch, wheat amino acids, chondrus crispus (carrageenan), hydroxyethylcellulose, xanthan gum, magnesium sulfate, phenoxyethanol, isopropylparaben, butylparaben, potassium sorbate, isobutylparaben, violet #2, fragrance, amylcinnamyalcohol, benzyl benzoate, amylcinnamal, coumarin.

I tried this once and took it back because it seemed to have absolutely no hold in my hair. My curls went totally limp and frizzy. I get really good results and good hold with B&A, so I wonder what gives.

It's got mag.sulfate in it? Interesting!

It's in the upper 50s/60s here today, so maybe that has to do with it. And everyone's hair likes different things.

lushaholic, it's not a lot of mag sulfate (next to the preservatives, curls aren't skinny at all), but it seems like "just enough."

Obviously, I need to try it for longer, but day 1 looks really good.

This must have been a One Hit Wonder because I haven't been able to duplicate my good results day one. Now, I have stringy curls with lots of frizz throughout and very noticeable frayed ends frizz from first thing.
