What do you do with your hair while waiting for it to dry and applying make up?

I diffuse my hair until it's about 75% dry. Then I put it back in the world's loosest ponytail in a loose scrunchie while I do my makeup. After I'm done, I blow dry it a little more, then SOTC with CJ Coffee Coco. Then I let it air dry.

My question is, what can I do with my hair while I'm doing my make up, since it's still kind of wet? I'm afraid that if I try to wrap it in a t shirt, it will press down the curls too much. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Armpit length (dry), middle of back wet, 2c/3a, fine, porous, color-over-gray, normal elasticity. Trying so hard to grow it out.

Am experimenting with products to see what works for me. Seems like I get different results every day even if I use the same products!
I do this in the other order, scrunch hair, plop it loosely, pretty wet into the t-shirt i used to scrunch it, then get dressed & painted, then either diffuse, clip, or just let it down, whatever I have time for...

But I think that perhaps the satin cap might be perfect for you, if the world's loosest ponytail isn't working.
And ALSO I'd go ahead and try plopping it into a t-shirt loosely after it's half-diffused, it might give you fabulous bounce! Don't dismiss it without trying it

If you're looking for options other than your loose ponytail, I think the satin cap is a good idea. Otherwise, if you're looking to just get your hair away from your face enough to put on makeup, you could take small sections of hair from the nape of your neck and bring them up and around the rest of your hair and either "tie" it or clip it loosely. I'm probably not decribing that clearly enough, but here's a link to a video of Lorraine Massey doing this on a curly on mydevacurl.com: MyDevaCurl - Curly Lifestyle - Videos

I scrunch, diffuse, then hold my hair away from my face with a pair of sunglasses. Works really well, and my hair dries kind of up and away from my forehead. I have a tiny forehead so this works super well for me.

edit: Just wanted to add that this also works if you're in a hurry and need to leave while your hair is still drying. No one really gives you funny looks if you've got sunglasses on your head as opposed to big shiny salon clips.

I just scrunch and diffuse off to each side, when I wore my hair straight it had a side part with some side swept bangs...now that I am trying CG my ahir has gone crazy, it now likes to part in the middle and my once nice side swept bangs rise into an almighty M type arch...its sooo annoying!! BIG CHOP thursday whooohoo!

so to address your issue lol umm I dunno how much hair you have but 2 little aligator clips to hold front hairs out of the way ay work, I like the sunglasses idea from mysterflavored (flavoured!) haha thats great! and you could always try a fleece headband too! I like the plopping idea after diffusing partly dry, i gotta try that!

Hey Ladies, thanks for all the replies and advice. Here's what I ended up doing:

I went to Sally's Beauty and bought the biggest satin sleep cap they had. This morning after I washed, styled, and diffused for a while, I "plopped" my hair into the cap by opening the cap's elastic as wide as I could and plopping my hair into it. It worked like a charm and makes me consider doing actual, real plopping into a t shirt. Anyway, thanks again to all. I don't know what I would do without NC.com.

I plop my hair into a microfiber towel until after I'm done getting ready and dressed. Then I use a couple of clear plastic claw/finger clips for the bangs to keep them out of my face while I drive to work.
