Default Do windy days frizz out your hair?

I live in Ohio, and the winds here today were 30 mph. I always wear a little bit of CG approved hairspray, but it obviously didn't help. My ringlets separated and got "fuzzy" after they were blown around. In fact, I have more problem with wind and my hair than I do humidity. Does anyone else have problems with windy days?

CG since June 2011 and loving it so far.
Product Junkie-love anything CJ. Used to love KT and KCCC, but lately doing nothing for my hair but flattening it.
Am experimenting with products to see what works for me. Seems like I get different results every day even if I use the same products!

Yes, wind is worse for my curls than humidity and high dew points! What hairspray do you use that is CG?

Good post!

I use the Giovanni LA Firm Hold spray. It's not that firm, believe me. Not like the stuff I used to use before I went CG-"Big Sexy Hair Spray and Play Harder." That stuff was like wearing a helmet and was impossible to wash out. I guess I can put up with the frizziness if I have healthy hair.

Windy days DEFINITELY frizz out my hair. I went out one day when it was very windy to walk the dog. I left with beautiful chunky curls and came home with a rat's nest of unruly, frizzy, poofy, straighter hair. For me, the wind is most definitely worse than humidity. It's not even that it gives me an unbearable amount of frizz, although it does give me some. It's more that it separates any and all my clumps, gives my hair more incentive to poof, and tangles my hair like it's nobody's business!

Fellow Buckeye here. The weather has been unusual and windy. Loose ponytails, scarves, barrettes, messy buns.... any of these things are my friend on days like today (and it appears that it will be the same all week with rain as an added bonus). You are right that the wind can break up clumps and wreak havoc on curls. You may want to try some styles that will keep your hair protected.

One little trick I use is to gently pull my hair back into a low, loose ponytail until I arrive at work or my destination. If three twists of the band is tight than I only do 2. I live in the city so I do a lot of walking (and I work just off a river with insane wind gusts). Unless I'm walking miles, this technique keeps my hair from being plastered to my face and somewhat controls the destruction of the wind. It's obviously not a miracle solution but it helps. If my hair is still wet when I leave the house it doesn't work though because I'll get a dent from the ponytail holder. For some reason this technique also works well when it's super humid out. It's like the ponytail holds the poof in! A scrunchie would be best for this but I could never walk around town with one in

Haha I know...I recently started wearing one around the house and to exercise (at the house) and I almost feel embarrassed even when I'm by myself! Although mortifying, they really do help to prevent dents or snags, LOL.

Ditto. I usually have enough gel in so it doesn't frizz, but it definitely tangles (I usually never have a problem with them!) and I get stringy waves.

My hair is too short for a ponytail or scrunchy. I'm going to look into better hats.

LOL! It always cracks me up when someone says they never have problems with tangles, because my hair tangles without any added incentive! Sometimes my hair just has a mind of it's own.
