I posted a new thread and didn't see this topic, so I'll post the link to my thread here:
Pixie Cut Help?
That password doesn't work
Wow, I love your pixie! It reminds me of Ginnifer Goodwin's hair, how it's short but long enough in the front to be very versatile. Your picture proves pixies look great curly and straight! My hair curls a bit like yours, in ringlets, and I was worried about how it'll look if I go with the pixie cut, but yours looks fantastic!

I went from shoulder length to a pixie a little over a year ago. I lived it, it was so easy to care for and the shock value at work was heaps of fun. Although it was interesting that some people were a bit creepily attached to my curls, lol. Anyway, after a few months I started to miss my curls too much, so I'm growing it out now. Here's what it looked like:

I just tried it and it worked for me. It's onomatopoeia - like in a comic book: "kapow."

My inspiration was Jean Seaberg in "A Bout de Souffle" (Breathless). These are from a few years ago.

So for those of you with pixies, do you straighten them, and if so, is it hard to straighten them, or are the shorter parts pretty straightened out naturally?

I never needed to straighten mine. The cut needed the curl to give it texture. The bits in front of my ears drove me nuts though coz they curled out a bit too much if I went too long between trims.

My hair was too short to curl, so I just gave it a quick blow dry (maybe 2 min) to tousle it. A couple months later and it's starting to curl again, so I can use my diffuser.

I had to straighten the top, but the shorter parts were so short that they didn't have to be straightened but the whole look was more maintenance than I could handle. I loved the way I looked though and I always felt really chic.

I think pixie cuts are absolutely adorable and really fashionable, as are inverted bobs, but I'm so terrified of what my curls would look like short I wont cut them! Since my hair went from poofy to curly many years ago It's always been at least just below shoulder length, so I don't know how it would react to a short cut. I want to know, but I'm too chicken!!!
My oldest sister (also curly, very similar to me, but more 3b) cut her hair chin length but then had it chemically straightened so I never got to see it short and curly! Dang it!

Check out pictures of pixies on celebs, like Michelle Williams and see if you like any of those styles.
I stumbled upon this this blogger and I think she's gorgeous with her short hair. I love the color of her hair, and maybe her pics will inspire you too:

Omg that girl has the most adorable hair cut!!! If I didn't know that I'd want to grow it out after 6 months (I've been doing this since I was 12 lol), I'd run out and get this cut ASAP.

I went pixie to tailbone and back again! There are a bunch of photos on my blog. Well, maybe I'm not totally back to a pixie, but it is pretty short currently (the arrow is pointing to where I have a bobby pin holding back my fringe):

Let's see if I can post a pic. I have really short hair and just restarted letting it be curly instead of blowing it straight. Please excuse the goofy t-shirt and the shiny face.

Try loading another one. I think I may grow the layers out a bit, but am not sure if that will make it go flat. Been awhile since I've let it be curly. It's very fine, and too long and it all goes flat.
This is my hair straight. I honestly am not sure if I like it better straight or curly. I sometimes think curly makes me look really old. Opinions?

I think that since your straight hair falls longer on and around your face, that you would like your curly hair better if it were long enough to soften the look of your face in the same way. In my opinion one of the main reasons the curly look may seem aging on you is that it looks so short curly, it gives the impression of the "butch" type haircut that seems so popular for many ladies of a certain age. This is something I am facing right now, going from a short straight look to a short curly look and trying to find the right length for the curly look for me.

Thanks, raindear, I'm going to let it grow a bit. It's very fine which I fight with all the time.

I'm digging this one up, as I'm going pixie on Tuesday!
It has been YEARS since I've been on here, but I've been digging my curly hair for awhile. It only took 28 years to come to terms with it...
4 years, 1 marriage, and 1 baby later it looks. like. hell.
I'm still nursing, so I don't know if it's the hormones from that or the amount of time I have for styling (or even a shower, if I'm being truthful!) but it just doesn't look good or put together at all. I've been getting it cut dry by a Deva trained stylist, but I'm just not happy with it lately. The curls, no matter what rock hard gel I use or how long I wait to SOTC, always fall flat by the end of the day. Second day hair is a thing of the past. My toddler may have something to do with the frizz, but I'll leave her out of it! Haha!
I've had a pixie cut before. I think I was 18 and I remember loving it for 2 weeks and then missing my long hair badly. I have a feeling it will be easier this time. I don't have acne anymore (I think that was a huge reason I missed my hair last time; I didn't have anything to hide behind,) and I'm just much more confident and ready for a funky, easy hairstyle that doesn't leave me looking like a mess at the end of the day.
So, that's where I'm at. I can't tell if I'm nervous or excited but I have the tingles either way!
p.s. What do I copy and paste on photobucket to post a picture? the IMG code or the HTML code?
