Is it bad to co wash daily?

I just wondered if it is considered bad to co wash daily (or most days) ?

No, not if that's what your hair likes. Go to it!
I co-wash just about everyday .

I'm new. Is using Jessicurl HCC considered co wash?

Have had my hair short for almost a year now. No regrets! Still loving it!
I had to wash every day too when I co washed and it didn't seem to har the hair at all.

Jessicurl HCC is a very mild shampoo so it isn't considred a conditioner wash, not in my opinion anyways. But it is very, very mild for most so it should be fine anyways. Depending on your hair and scalp of course.
I have two main objection to co-washing everyday:

1) It may remove all or most of the sebum from the scalp, which is only sort of OK for very oily hair; any kind of hair needs some of it if it's going to be healthy as the oil's job is to protect our hair.

2) Unless the CO used is made at home from totally organic and pure ingredients one is rubbing some kind of chemical or another on the scalp (at the very least the preservatives), a certain amount of which will be absorbed into our bloodstream and even if they are not really toxic (which many are) our livers and kidneys still have to clear them out of the body. When seen as a single thing it doesn't seem like much but if we stop to think about the soap/body wash, lotions, creams & other cosmetics we put on our skin on a daily basis we're actually increasing the chemical load our bodies have to deal with - NOT a good thing!

So if you really appreciate your health don't overdo the cleansing, even an oily scalp can eventually "calm down" and normalize after a while.

The most I can go without co washing is 2 days, sometimes 3. My head itches like crazy if I don't. My scalp is just so dry.

During the first week of CG it's OK to CO wash even everyday (though not ideal...) and the itching is a sign of healing, however, if there is itching after several weeks the cause could be different. If it's due to dryness, washing of any kind, unless it's done with a rich CO, is only going to keep compounding the problem by removing any trace of sebum from the scalp.

My suggestion would be for you to get a good oil such as jojoba or virgin coconut oil (easily found at Indian grocery stores) and do an overnight treatment. All you do (at bedtime) is massage a little bit of oil at a time on your scalp with your fingertips until you've massaged all of it, then you rub a few drops of oil in your hands and smooth it mainly over the top of your hair, any dry parts and the ends, then wrap your head in a scarf or sleep bonnet. When you get up remove the oil in the shower by washing with CO, then proceed as usual. You could also add a few drops of the oil to your current CO.

I co wash usually everyday and have been doing it for a long time. I don't see anything wrong with it. In fact I've found that it is necessary for my hair and scalp. Do whatever works for you. hth

I co-wash every single day. No problems from it. My hair looks like crap if I don't. It also is just dirty. I have oily skin, so I just can never get second day hair.
