HELP PLEASE! Great Curl products are destroying my color!

I hope someone can help. I use Robert Craig haircolor--love it, and finally found a curl system that gives me great, bouncy curls--Deva Lo Poo and Condition One. But the Deva products seem to be taking the color right out of my hair! What would do this? Is it the oil? The glycerin? And what can I use to safely boost my curls and keep my color instead? I'm at a loss! I don't want to lose either the curls--or the color!

Thank you,
Caroline

You might be able to use the Deva products a week after coloring, maybe it would be ok then, after the color has really set.

OH NO WONDER!!! Thank you, thank you so much! This is so helpful!
Yes, RC Color is different than other brands so we can't use the things others can with different brands. Normally oils would be good for colored hair, but then if you use RC your hair will not be as dry as others and won't need it.

Let me know how things go and what you try out.

Thank you again--I just looked at the ingredients in the RC conditioner, which never faded my color, and it has glycerin! I'm wondering if it's the oils in the DEVA that did it--so I think I'll wait a few weeks after coloring. Are all oils in products bad?

I do love the RC, and thank you for your help. I really, really seriously appreciate it.
Yes, I think the oils are worse than the glycerin. But too much glycerin can be bad too. I've never had a problem with the conditioner, but then I try to keep it off the roots right after coloring. Good luck! I'm glad I could help.

Yeah, glycerin can be a bear for red tones, especially.

Here's an article we did on glycerin
.
