HCC woes continue...

I just water rinsed and used Too Shea the day after I used the HCC(and had the very poofy undefined curls) and I had much nicer defined curls. The day after that I just water rinsed again and used the Too Shea and my hair was ok did not have as nice the distribution of curls like I had the day before(by this I mean the front of my head had curls that that were clumped together in spirals and the sides were flatter and not as curlier. Today I used the HCC and then the Too Shea and the canopy of my hair is very flat with not alot of curl distribution again. My hair seems almost parted down the middle now with waves and and some curls near the bottom intsead of having curls throughout. I recently went to a hair stylist who said I had lots of hair which made it thick but that the indvidual hairs were fine. Is it possible that my hair needs a more thorough cleaning then the HCC is providing? I did use the GLS and Aloeba conditioner last Friday and my hair was very frizzy and did not clump well. My styling products are a nickel size of Confident Coils and a nickel size of gel scrunched into wet hair and then diffused dry. My hair does feel very soft I just am not sure what combination is going to work for me. I do have Low Poo and One C as back up. Anything else out there that might be good for my hair, Elucence maybe? Any more feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks

Too Shea! is a stronger conditioner than Aloeba, so you may want to switch the way you have them paired: GLS with TS, HCC with Aloeba. That might help.

I use TS and HCC, but I put in the TS first, right when I get into the shower. I comb it through and leave it while I do everything else. Then the last thing I do is scrub my scalp with HCC (or TS if I just want to co-wash), fingercomb out any tangles, and rinse with cool water.

Maybe you need more styling product.

I used HCC and Aloba this morning. I also used a huge puddle of RR, a quarter size CCS and a couple of sprays of Gelebration. My curls are bouncy and probably shrunk 2 inches. I have fine wavy hair.

Check out the videos on Jessi's site. You can see pretty clearly how much she uses.

It sounds like we might have similar hair. I have thick hair, in terms of how much there is, but the individual strands are probably medium, not fine. My hair doesn't like products that are too moisturizing, and I think Jessicurl products are just too strong. I couldn't get them to work for me, no matter what combination of products I tried. It's possible you need to adjust your product usage and amount, but it's also possible your hair is like mine, and it just doesn't respond well to Jessicurl.

If I'm reading your post correctly, it doesn't sound like you need a stronger cleanser since your hair is doing better on the days you only water wash. It sounds like your hair likes having NO cleanser in it.

Maybe try water washing on most days, and only use HCC once a week, or even once every two weeks - whatever works for you - that way you only have to put up w/ a frizzy day on occasion when you shampoo.

jessicurl products didn't work well for me at all. My hair was frizzy and poofy and undefined. It seems like either it works great for people or not at all.
