2 Questions about Beeswax in hair products

Is one concern about using hair products that contain beeswax that it will result in buildup on your hair? I'm sure there are plenty of people who use products that contain beeswax and don't have any problems, but in an effort to continue educating myself about curly hair care, I'm wondering what issues others who purposefully avoid beeswax have with it. Thanks.

Also, the product description for DevaCurl Set Me Up Pomade says it contains beeswax, but when I look at the ingredients list, I don't see the term 'beeswax' actually listed. Does anyone know what other term/terms are used for beeswax? Here's the ingredients list:
Water (Aqua), Aqueos Extracts of: Achilea Millefolium, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria), Cymbopogon Schonanthus, Humulus Lupulos (Hops), Melissa Offcinalis (Balm Mint), Rosemarinus Offcinalis (Rosemary); Ceteareth-20, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, PEG-5 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Propylene Glycol, Theobroma Grandiflorum (Cupuaco) Seed Butter, Simmondsia Chinensis (jojoba) Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (olive) Fruit Oil, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Blue 1, Yellow 5

Dang it...No thoughts on beeswax, huh?
Oh well. I think I'll go ahead and just opt to stay away from products with beeswax then. Although I'm not sure why it's even in hair products or what other names it goes by, it may be the reason DC Set Me Up is the one DevaCurl product I *really* don't like on my hair.

Set Me Up is a discontinued product, which was replaced by Set Up and Above. Might you be referring to Set It Free (which does contain beeswax)?

Personally, I really dislike it. It seems to sort of wilt on me, and it seems to build up.

Oh, that's right. I had Set Me Up on the brain, but I meant Set It Free. My hair just looks and feels completely not natural if I use it, and I'm thinking it's the beeswax that's the problem.

I'm a stylist. Yes beeswax can build up on the hair. What you describe from the way your hair looks and feels from the Set it Free sounds like that could be an issue for you.

I also hate the way my hair feels with Set It Free. My hair feels tacky and coated so I never use it. Plus, I donīt think it does anything for my hair.

If you have straight hair you probably will not like the effects of beeswax because it will probably make your hair look wet or greasy. Beeswax might cause buildup on curly thick hair, but beeswax is one of the best natural styling products I've used and helps tame my hair a lot. the health benefits of using beeswax outweigh the cons for me. I use Morenature beeswax hair & skin moisturizer and I am NEVER going back.
I have been dying to find a CG friendly pomade without beeswax and recently found two. One is the kinky curly pomade and the other is the most blunt pomade. I don't know the exact names but I will post tomorrow when I have my list handy.
