Help Me With My 'Kurls'!

Hello Curlies

I need some MAJOR help with my curls, you have NO idea.
I Have about shoulder length 3b cuurrly hair. And it is uncontrollable. It is thick, and big. I have probably used at least $150 worth of products that are crappy and don't work on me. I don't want my hair to be big in the back, that's the goal I'm trying to accomplish. Although I swim twice a week, shower everyday and have well water, my hairs healthy; every month or so I get a trim and a Malibu Treatment. I have dry scalp/dandruff.
People say they love my hair, but I just can't seem to come around to like it. Is there any product that is literally, amazing? Or should I get the Ouidad Shape and Cut Hair Cut? Or do I just have to wait for it to get long? Would really love help. Thanks and if I need to put a picture up, willing to do so.

a picture would help us see what you mean

sounds like that you need more moisture in so a deep treatment here n there wont hurt. for you dandruff there are quiet a few natural things that you can do that really do work amazing. i love oil so i use it quiet a bit so i no what works for me. same oils also help with the dandruff

I can see why people say they love your hair. You've got great curls! It looks, however, like you could use a deep conditioning treatment, and given that you swim regularly, you might want to schedule regular DTs. There are lots of commercial DTs on the market, but if you're concerned with cost, you can also make your own. A simple but effective one I make is just a mixture of one tablespoon each of extra virgin olive oil, honey, and conditioner. Your hair looks pretty dense, so you may need to mix more than that (?) The conditioner I use in this mixture is DevaCurl One Conditioner, but you could use something less expensive from Suave or VO5, too. I leave it on my hair for at least 30 minutes before rinsing it out.

Sealing your hair might help, too. When your hair is still wet after you've washed or rinsed it (that is, not wet with chlorinated water), you can take some oil and smooth it over your hair to seal the water (i.e. moisture) in. I particularly like using coconut oil to seal my hair because I don't see that I get oil build up on my hair from it. Also, I myself don't use hair products with sulfates or non-water soluble silicones in them, and I really think that has helped maintain the moisture balance of my hair, but that's up to you.

One thing that you could try for your scalp is mixing drops of tea tree oil (you can get it at your local drug store) into a little water and applying that to your scalp. Tea tree oil sooths skin really well.

Since everyone's hair is different, you'll probably end up having to do some experimenting.

i agree with the sealing, that will help protect your hair while swimming, i also agree with the tea tree, mix it with same jojoba or argan oil and message it on your scalp to help with the dandruff. try a nettle rinse. pick a few handfuls of stining nettle, pour same boiling water over it and add a bit of vinegar, wait for it to cool, strain and pour that over your hair as a final rinse, make sure that it gets on your scalp, and message it in. do this twice a week.

I'm cosigning sealing too. But I wouldn't suggest coconut oil. It's a fat and when it's cooler out, it will hardenin your hair making it hard and stiff. I learned this the hard way.
