Default Helpp! I dont know what to do with my hair!

I have really curly, thick hair and it almost impossible to leave down anymore. It is disgustingly dry and damaged and i use countless products to try and fix it. Right now i am using redkin leave in conditioner and curl activating gel, but it is just so dry. I dont know what to do. I have tried hundreddds of products. Literally. Anyone have any ideas on what to do or what products to use?

Shea moisture ... Raw Shea butter shampoo then use the Shea butter deep conditioner. Believe it or not Walgreens sells this.

I would start at a clean slate with a shampoo with no sulfates to get rid of any excess products(build up can cause dryness). I then would deep treat your hair, and after rinsing that out, style normally but with a oil(coconut for example is great!) to seal in moisture.

i think you meant to say the final shampoo before cg should be WITH SULFATES to remove any cones. follow this shampoo with conditioners without cones, and subsequent shampoos -- low poos or cowashes -- no sulfates.

i agree with the deep treating. a word on the oil -- lots of people use it, some, myself included, cannot. so i would use oil on another day when you are willing to experiment. for me, i've tried, separately, coconut and olive oil a few times and always, even tho i merely did a very light coating, barely there, on my hands that i rubbed over my hair, it took me a week to wash it out. others use it as a pre poo the night before, then wash it out in the morning.

starting out cg will take some experimenting, but when you hit on what works for your hair, it makes it all worthwhile.
