Coconut oil & honey DT...

I'm thinking of trying a coconut oil and honey DT but I'm lost as to what I need to look for.

As far as the coconut oil is concerned, should I be looking for an actual oil, like jojoba oil, or the products that come in a tub, like Palmers?

For the honey, I'm thinking regular grocery store brand would probably work. Or should I use a raw organic honey like something that I would find in a health food store?

Sorry for all the questions...but I get dizzy from trying to narrow down what my hair needs...

Thanks in advance...

When it come to coconut oil is best to look for extra virgin. This oil will be in solid form.
Last week I mixed AOHSR with honey and coconut oil and may hair was really soft!
Good luck with it

There really is no such thing as extra virgin coconut oil. They have it, but I read it's just labeled as such to imitate EVOO.
You should look for virgin coconut oil. It should come in a jar.
Like Rusycurly said, it will be in a solid form, and melts at the touch of the warmth of your hands.

As for honey, it's your preference. I get mines from walmart. The pure, all-natural honey. The darker the honey, the better.
Thank you both so much for responding. I can't wait to get to the health food store and see what I can find.

I agree with the extra virgin (or just virgin ) oil, but I think it's also better if it's cold pressed. Also, I'd definitely get unrefined coconut oil, because it smells so darn yummy! And it's probably better for your hair...but I just like the smell. I don't think the type of honey would matter that much, but I'm sure organic or all natural is always better.

Have fun!

Coconut oil is with the cooking oils in health food stores, many supermarkets, some walmarts, and online at places like drugstore.com, amazon.com, vitacost.com, etc.

Unrefined works better for me then refined coconut oil. I can't tell a difference between organic and not organic (although I'm sure the soil it is grown in can tell). I would think any honey would do.
Hope it works for you. Coconut oil and honey are both HGs for me.

Yay! I found Marshmallow root, organic raw honey, and virgin cold- pressed unrefined coconut oil at the health food store.

Now for my last question...how do I apply it as a DT? Do I just mix the coconut & honey and apply to my hair?

I do Honey and Olive Oil as a lightening treatment and as a DT, just be aware the natural peroxide in honey will gradually lighten your hair over time. When I do Olive Oil and Honey I just whip them up in a bowl with a splash of water or conditioner for consistency purposes, and apply with my fingers through sections in my hair
