Preserving curls after SOTC?
Hey all, just wanted to ask if any of you also struggle with losing some of your curl formation after you SOTC. Here's a pic of my hair before I SOTC, but always after I SOTC I lose some of the bounciness and strength of my curls. Does anyone else struggle with this? Any suggestions?
By the way, I usually just SOTC with my hands. If I shower later in the day and go to sleep before I SOTC, then I kinda SOTC/revive my curls with water and condish on my hands. I am a mixture of fine/medium 2c/3a curls, I think.

SOOOOO stalking this thread! Hope you get a TON of replies! Lol!
Mine tend to loosen throughout the day, too. I've had some success with my latest routine, but I can't really say why for sure. I think it's the glycerin, but I'm not sure.

Woops! Meant to add that using a harder holding gel helps, but you probably know that.

Me, too so my solution is something I dubbed SOMOTC. Scrunch out MOST of the Crunch.
If I scrunch it all out it gets droopy. If I leave a little bit it holds a bit better.

I also am having this problem, except in addition to losing the curl, my hair just looks stringy and greasy as the day goes on. I cannot figure out how to have it look nice all day.
As soon as I SOTC, I have soft, pretty curls. But then I leave my house and already in the walk to the garage, it looks different, and then as the day goes on, worse and worse.
I have been using Deva ArcAngel and just started adding AG Recoil, but today for the first time I tried Recoil with a little Biosilk Rock Hard Gelee, and wow did my hair look bad. I literally just put it up in a bun because it looked so awful. (Note: I didn't use nearly as much BRHG as I do ArcAngel because the consistency seemed so different.)
I can't figure out how to make my hair look pretty! It's very frustrating. I'm just wondering what I could be doing wrong?? Thanks for any advice.

Best thing I've found is sealing after washing, and if it feels a little weak after SOTC, I'll hit it with some flex hold hairspray.

I like to SOTC with a few drops of oil rubbed into my palms. It kind of keeps things some of the flyaways stay put and it's great for your ends.
But I only really have SOTC if I'm using a combo of hard hold gels. Usually using my mousse or layering Mixed Silks gel underneath will prevent the crunchies, then I don't have to worry about it much.
