did not work for me at first, either, & I actually swapped it away
Now, I'm on my 2nd tube... My hair is a combo of 2b & 3a. I too need volume at my roots, & this is what I do:
Shampoo & condition hair, all rinsed out upside down. While still bent over, I take my entire wad of hair into one clump & gently twist to wring the water out.
I then take about a blob (somewhere between a pea size to a dime size), emulsify it in my palms, then spread over the underside of my hair. I then stand straight, take another (same sized) blob, emulsify it, then spread over the top of my hair, making sure I massage some into my roots.
Here's what makes the difference for me - I take my wide toothed comb, bend over, & comb the Re:coil
all through my hair, which seems to clump it back into one big section. I scrunch it (& at this point, I can really feel the Re:coil
in my hair), then I sort of 'plop' into a t-shirt. I leave it up for 5 minutes at the most!!
For winter, I've been scrunching in a mixture of mousse & gel (mousse helps me with volume during the dryness of the winter), then diffuse until 70%-ish dry
The main thing that really helped the Re:coil
work for me is combing it through & getting the amount right for my hair. If I use too much, my hair feels gunky, but with much experimentation, I've found that this amount works perfectly!!
Sorry for the dissertation, but don't give up on the Re:coil
. It may take a little trial & error, but it's well worth it
Like I said, I've gone through one full tube, on my 2nd, & have a big bottle in my stash. It's expensive, but it's definitely worth it
