Right now I'm just using basic suave coconut conditioner to co wash. I haven't cut cones out completely because I *just* started today, but my hair already looks much better! I was using some pretty good sulfate free shampoos and tried not to wash more than every other day but my hair has finally just had it! I finally tried co washing (I tried it before briefly but I guess I was using a bad conditioner) and I love it so much! Soo, I need recs for a co wash (I want to try some more to get a taste of whats out there), rinse out, DT, PT, leave in, gel, oils, clarifier (sulfate free), refreshing spray, detangler, yeah, basically everything. I have 3a hair that can handle REALLY heavy products when it comes to care, and relatively heavy products for styling (just no crunch). Also, my hair loves proteins and oils. Thanks!!

i have everything from 3a-4a hair all over, so i'm thinking there's a lot of things on this list of goodies that should work for you!

1.clarifying rinse - organic acv 1oz, aloe juice 1oz & water 10ozs in place of shampoo once a week. i get a nice clean scalp and shine for days without the suds!
2.co-wash conditioner - garnier pure clean. my hair loves this conditioner! i also like tresemme naturals and wen fig, but these are definitely my 2nd choice.
3a.protein treatment - ors hair mayo - use this once a week right on top of my co-wash conditioner. keeps my curls springy and tight
3b. moisture deep conditioner - queen helene cholesterol. banishes protein overload in one 30mins treatment under the heat cap. a must have!
4.detangler - carol's daughter black vanilla leave in- use on wet or dry hair and never hear a snap! my hair smooths out like butter. this stuff is the truth!
5.leave ins - i make a cocktail with lotta body olive oil setting lotion, 3caps of water, 2 caps african pride strengthener, & 10drops peppermint oil. the carol's daughter makes a great leave in also
6.moisturizer - wet hair - naturally chamomile moisturizer. it's not natural, but it works great for my hair. dry hair - just naturals nutritive herbal hair gel. great for day 2,3,4,5 hair! shine and control without the build up or tacky feel. also for dry hair i make my own moisture custard w/aloe gel 6oz, evoo 1oz, shea butter 1oz & peppermint oil 20drops. another great dry hair moisturizer is my honey child guava balm. it works just like my moisture custard and the smell is amazing! yummy!
7.gels - la bella lots of curls and queen helene styling glaze. (both #8hold) not natural products, but again, my hair responds well to both. when used on wet, moisturized hair they control frizz without hair feeling like helmet head and allows my style to last up to 5days (i'm trying to get to 7!).
8.growth aids/treatments - black tea rinses and groworks grow it serum - both help control shedding. just use as needed.

well, this is my list. i thought i'd list all of the things i love so that you'll have options. i hope this helps!

i love natural things, so im a big fan of oils and different herbs, just things that you can find in your garden, my oils are: argan, hemp seed oil, emu oil, almond oil, coconut oil, and i just started on shea butter and cocoa butter.
my fave herbs are: rosemary, nettle, comfrey and sage,
my other things are: aloe vera, hibiscus and rose.
right now ive gotten my hair so good, that i hardly do anything to it, i use condish as a leave in, and my aloe vera gel in the morning over that, then at night i seal my ends with shea/cocoa butter n oils.
i only wash my hair twice a so i get great second and third day hair its just a matter of using different things till ya find your HG

my hair: 3c, high porosity, high density and coarse hair (i think i finally figured that all out)
my hair loves conditioner only styling!
my hair goal length is bra strap length when curly.

I also blog about my hair journey, please feel free to read and comment/ask questions http://www.naturallycurly.com/blogs/...air-blogs/2494
Well, I guess it really depends on your hair properties. If your hair is finer in texture or higher in porosity, it will probably need some protein. If it is coarser, it won't need as much protein. When I CO-washed, I loved Suave Naturals Daily Clarifying, but all Suave Naturals and VO5 conditioners are very popular and nice and cheap (and can be protein-filled or protein-free)! For ROs, I like Tresemme Naturals and Yes To Carrots conditioners. They are both protein-free and nice and moisturizing. Yes To Carrots is more natural and has tons of good oils and stuff, but I still find Tresemme more moisturizing. Many, many curlies also use a little bit of their RO condish for a LI (multi-purposing means less products! ), but if you want to buy one, Giovanni Direct Leave-In is a good protein-y option. For DTs and PTs, there are lots of easy, inexpensive homemade options on here. My favorite DT was one I made myself using avocado, honey, and EVOO, but if you do a search, tons of stuff will come up. Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Mask is a popular "on the ground" option. I haven't tried many PTs, but IAgirl's gelatin PT rocks! Homemade, easy, and fast. (PT recipe - as promised) By clarifyer, I'm assuming you mean a low poo. Organix low poos are sulfate-free and readily available. The only one I tried was the Shea Butter one, but I LOVED it. Lots of people also use Renpure Organics low poos, something I've never tried. In the way of oils, coconut oil is VERY popular among curlies. It's one of the few oils that absorbs into the hair shaft, so it's great for pre-poos and things like that. Many different people use many different oils to seal moisture into their hair with (sweet almond, castor, grapeseed, etc., etc.), but my personal fave is Apricot Kernel oil. It's awesome stuff. For gels, my favorite non-protein gels are Aussie Instant Freeze and Garnier Fructis Pure Clean. I LOVE these guys. My favorite protein options are EcoStyler (Krystal and Argan oil). Lots of other popular gels on here include homemade flaxseed gel, Herbal Essences gels, Aussie gels, La Bella gels, and LA Looks gels.

HTH a little, and congrats on going curly. Just an FYI, but you said you were still using 'cones on your hair despite going CG. 'Cones can only be removed with sulfates, so they will probably start building up on your hair over time unless you remove them completely from your CG routine and do a final 'cone-free sulfate wash.

Thanks a bunch!! And yes, I'm using cones right now just until I get a good CG friendly RO, so I'll do one last sulfate wash and then be totally CG.

Awesome! Just making sure! I know lots of curlies who started CG with silicones by mistake, and then the build up commences. My final sulfate wash wound up being a 'cone-filled shampoo by mistake, and my hair was awful till I got all that build up out. Now I know better, LOL!

Do you have any recs for clarifying shampoo? Does it have to be clarifying or can it be any sulfate shampoo that doesn't have cones? I was looking at suave clarifying but I'm afraid it'll be too stripping. Thanks
