How much do you spend on hair care?

How much do you think you spend on hair care in a 12 month period?

Since September I have spent $111 on products for my hair care regimen. I've purchased brushes, combs, shamppoo, condish, deep treatment stuff, oils, vitamins, a dryer bonnet, microfiber towels, and more. I stocked up during a SM sale at walgreens so I am praying my products last through March 2012. I assume that I will be spending about $50 every three months on restocking products. So by next September I will have spent about $261 if I can manage to avoid going to the salon.
About my hair:

Kinky Curly Come Clean. About two bottles a year. $24

Kinky Curly Knot Today. About 20 bottles per year. $240

Kinky Curly Curling Custard. About 4 large tubs per year. $120.

Kinky Curly Pomade. Two tins per year. $20

Curl Junkie Daily Fix. 32oz. 2 per year. $92.

Curl Junkie Curl Rehab 32oz. One per year. $65.

Curl Junkie Repair Me. 2-3 per year.
$58-$87.

Castor oil. Need to figure that out.

Aubrey Organics honeysuckle rose and white camellia. 2 bottles per year of each. About $45.

That is product only. This isn't counting cuts, color, or accessories.

IMHO, hair is like glasses--you wear "it/them" every day. So, it's worth every penny you spend for "it/them" to look great. The initial expenditure for the non consumables (dryer, towels, etc.) won't be repeated.

When you first join the boards, you want to try EVERYTHING you see. After that, you settle down and have a better idea of what works.

I get a haircut/highlight every six weeks, in addition to wetting, using a rinse out and styling every day. From the icon you selected, I'm thinking you think you spend a lot. It's really very modest compared to most of us on nc.com.

SE PA

HGs: Anything Sevi; Curly Kinks Satin Roots, Curlycue ReNew and Coil Jam; homemade FSG and okra gel; soap bars; UFD Curly Magic (now Hello Curly Curl Stimulater); Botanical Spirits Jellies, CJ Repair Me, Marie Dean Leave Ins and Curl Creams
Hm, I only got into CG a few months ago and I just recently got a job, so I don't usually buy expensive boutique products. All of my money is going to Christmas at the moment. But I will try some CJ things after the holidays

I probably would spend around $200 on my hair products... let's see. This is all estimation.

Giant container of argan oil: $23 (lasts SO long)
Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine: Probably like 10 of these... 10 x $7 = $70
Shea Moisture Curl Milk: 5 x $10 = $50
Renpure Organics lowpoo: 3 x $6 = $24
GFPC Gel: 5 x $5 = $25
Coconut Oil: 2 x $10 = $20

Could be worse. I only get my hair cut twice a year, too, so there's that. I also have massive hair. Eats up products like nobody's business.
whurly girly (2C/3A).
thick; medium/coarse; low porosity.
hair that is drier than the sahara desert.

LOW-POO: Renpure Organics
CO: L'Oreal EverCreme Cleansing Conditioner
RO: Renpure Keratin Conditioner. New HG!
LI: L'Oreal EverSleek Humidity-Defying LI Creme
Styling: SM Curl Milk, Argan Oil for sealing, sometimes GFPC Gel, some honey for hold, TIGI Control Freak Serum!!
I think i"ve spent about 100 this year .
Haircuts-diy-free
Hair color- Ion demi- 15$/year
Coconut oil-12$x2=24$
Tresemme naturals cowash- 3.50ish x1
Renpure organics shampoo-3.50 (on sale)x1
Renpure organics conditioner 3.50-5$ on sale x 6=24$ish
FSG-5$ish/year with additives (but cost a lot for stuff up front)
BRHG-I got a big bottle on sale, so 14$ per year
Gelatin PT- 2$ (or less) per year
Ion hairspray 6 $ x1/2= 3$
Plus misc. hair toys

so, around 100$

I'm guessing around $300. This includes everything: cuts, color, products and tools, plus shipping fees. I don't use the same products consistently, so prices vary.
I am guessing:

Low Poo: $20
Conditioner: $40-60
Stylers: $20-$40
Cuts: $20 x3 = $60

This is interesting...

Free hair sticks
$6 for spiral bun pins
$3 for no-catch rubber ponytail holders
$13 for a Bass soft boar bristle brush
$10 for a wooden wide-toothed comb
$7 for Buddy Wash hair conditioner (dog conditioner, but what I like about it is that it's really just essential oils and shea--no extra junk)
$3 for Garner Triple Nutrition DC
$5 for Queen Helene Royal Curl Shampoo
$10 for Beautiful Curls leave-in and detangler

So...$57 total, and that's for...maybe 3-4 months? and factoring in that I don't buy new hair tools ever, like $113 a year. I think that's pretty good.

Wow. xDD By the moment I only use conditioner, sometimes a gel without cones.. and I put mayo or yogurt on my hair every week... and shampoo just for my bangs so..
Conditioner = 12 a year?
Gel = 3
xDD
I'm amazed at the savings. Hope I can be that thrifty in the future
