Ok so I am a BEGINNER BEGINNER transitioner and I have been co-washing for a few days. I shampooed on friday with a sulfate-free moisturizing shampoo and my hair felt great! It is mostly relaxed and I have like 1-inch of new growth. I have been co-washing every night since then. Is this a good idea? I read that a lot of naturals do this. What I really want to know is what other things I need to be putting in my hair. I do 2-strand twists and twist them out in the morning. I feel like I am not doing it right? I need something to "seal the moisture"..or something like that?
What I use:
-Shampoo: Organix Tea Tree Mint
-Conditioner: Organix Coconut Milk Conditioner
-Leave-in Conditioner (styler) : Cantu Shea Butter Leave-in Conditioner
I was really excited and I looked at the ingredients before I bought these. I really wanted to try Shea Moisture or Silk Elements products because a lot of people say they are the best (i've done some research) and have gotten rave reviews. I could only afford something cheap right now though. So I got those 3 things. My hair is starting to feel a little dry...My relaxed ends are kind of soft but my new growth is a little dry. Is this because I am rinsing every night? Do I need to use oils? I already own this MegaGrowth oil and I discovered from the ingredients that it has great things like olive oil, grape-seed oil, avocado oil, and coconut oil (all those oils are combined!). Those oils are GREAT for natural hair right? Should I use that?
Should I try just spraying my hair with water and oil and using the cantu leave-in to style it? I AM SO CONFUSED!!! I want my hair to be soft and moist ALL the time. I think my hair needs a lot of water because it is getting dry or does that mean I need to stop rinsing and conditioner every night? Maybe once or twice a week?
