I have 3b hair and am thinking of chopping it all off to about this length: (http://www.hairdohairstyles.com/Hair...ort_Curly8.jpg) but, I'm nervous.

Is this an absolutely terrible idea? Has anyone done this/ seen photos/ have tips??

thanks guys!
I have 3B hair my mother used to have cut off in pixie cuts, and it was always a recipe for disaster, particularly given the amount of jump my hair has. Without weight on your hair, your curl will have totally free rein on what it does, and you will not be able to exert any control over it.

However, the cut you posted a link to is not a pixie cut, but considerably longer, a long "cap" cut. See this page for a picture of Mary Martin in "Peter Pan," sporting a longish pixie. My hair was never longer than 1" (when stretched) after the hairdressers got through with me.

3b hair will be much curlier than the photo you posted. If your hair is very defined and you don't mind spending a little more time on it, then I would do a mini cut first before committing to a bob or pixie that will take a while to grow out.
