This is going to sound bizarre but if you suffer from dandruff, you might be better off finding different sources of potassium. Last spring, I was having a really difficult time with flakiness and after some research I learned that bananas (not sure why though) contribute to dandruff. I used to eat them a lot but once I cut them out, I noticed a huge difference!!
