Default Coping with changing hair properties

When I started to wear my hair wavy/curly I low poo'd every other day with a non sulfate poo. Recently I started mixing conditioner with AVG and honey (3:1:1) to cleanse my hair, because co only made my scalp itch and this moisturized my scalp and hair quite good.
But now I just needed to cleanse after a day of 5! Only roots looked a bit greasy and I needed to cleanse my hair because of all the stuff getting stuck in there in a coupe of days and I really needed to detangle hair after all this time. So I did the same cleansing method but now I find my scalp quite dry. I am puzzled..I never had dry scalp until I started CG.
Should I change the quantities of products I am using to cleanse or should I cut the time I let the mixture sit on my hair (now 30 min.)?
Is it normal that hair properties change during CG?
I have normal (to low) poreus hair with good elasticity. Medium texture. It looks more like 2b, but acts also a lot like 3a (does that make sense?)
