Suave professional products, good or bad for your hair?

So I've been using Suave Professional Rosemary Mint shampoo and conditioner for a few months now and I was loving the results. So I mentioned to my sister, who is a hairstylist that I was using those products and she told me that Suave is practically the worst shampoo and conditioner you can use on your hair. She said that its nothing but water and alcohol, and contains one of the harshest alcohols out there. So I went home and looked the ingredients over again and saw that the second ingredient was indeed alcohol in the conditioner. The shampoo second ingredient was sodium laureth sulfate, which also strips your hair or make it feel very dry. Even though I was in love with this product, I'm going to have to do away with it. Maybe it was harsh on my hair, but to me it never felted that dry, or at least, that's what I thought. I did some research on it add i found that many others consider Suave a very harsh shampoo and conditioner, maybe thats one reason its on the cheaper side. None the less, because I really love the rosemary mint combination, I think im going to try bioinfusion rosemary mint shampoo and conditioner. I tried the conditioner before and I didn't think it did much for my hair then, but I may revisit it to make sure, of course I'll add a few extra oils to it to see it that will make it a better conditioner, more moisturizing. So with that being said, ladies please leave so replies on this topic, I'm very interested in others feedback. Thanks!

The Suave rosemary mint shampoo has sulfates which are very bad for your hair & the conditioner has cones which if you are CG you want to avoid. The Suave coconut conditioner is a fav by the people on these boards. I use the coconut conditioner as a co-wash b/c it is under $2. It is my favorite co-wash & I highly recommend it.

The Suave Professionals line contains sulfate detergents and silicones, and is not CG. The Suave Naturals line does not contain silicones, and the conditioners in that line are considered CG. However, neither Suave Professionals, Suave Naturals, nor any other "drugstore" hair product is generally well thought of by hairstylists. It's part of their job to push the "salon quality" products.

I bought that shampoo by accident once thinking it was the conditioner. As soon as i put in my hair I knew something was wrong. The horror!! Made my hair feel like straw. Took several CPR sessions with deep conditioners to get my hair back right. I never did go back for the conditioner because I ended up cutting out cones. I wont ever go buy sulfate shampoo again.

That may be true, but she wasn't trying to get me to buy salon type products, she just advised me to never use that on my hair again. So im back to the drawing board, im looking for a shampoo that's good for dry scalp, any suggestions.
