Default Amodimethicone??

Apparently this is water soluble or atleast can be removed by a low poo. I've also heard that coca. betaine can remove cones? It got me curious... is this true?

Yeah, the A-cone is generally removable by water! Some people will get sliiight build up if they use it too often and only co-wash, but it's much easier to remove/correct than dimethicone or other silicones.

And yes, coca. betaine can remove 'cones! Coca betaine is actually in my low-poo, Renpure Organics, and I find that it really clarifies my hair without stripping it.

Thanks a ton! I use products that have the a-cone every once in a while but I also low poo every once in a while and my low poo has coca. betaine in it. I haven't been noticing build up but I'm glad to hear I can keep going

Good to know, because my mousse contains Amodimethicone, now I just have to watch for build-up just in case!

3b (sometimes a little 3a mixed in)
thick enough to make 10 thick wigs lol
low porosity
pretty new at this!!!
co-wash every other day
co-wash: Organix Acai Berry and Avocado Conditioner
(Organix Acai Berry and Avocado Shampoo for an occasional low-poo)
rinse out: Suave Naturals Wild Cherry Blossom (I leave it in for 5 min. or so before rinsing)
leave-in: Garnier Sleek and Shine (new formula has no cones)
mousse: Samy Curl Activating (yes, it has amodimethicone)

If you do a search, you will find out that the "A" cone is not removable with water. It is soluble in water when they make the products, but not once it's on your hair. It's one of the easier cones to remove, products with coco b should do it. However, if you use it frequently, you need to remove it on a regular basis or it will cause you build up issues.

I use it not even once a week, I low poo every other week. I basically try to keep it the the very rare occasions when I blow dry because it is a heat protectant, or when I know my hair is going to frizz like crazy (for example when I go skiing). I should be ok, right?

If it doesn't give you problems, go ahead and use it. A lot of us stay away from it, but it's what works for you. If you do have an issue, that would be the first thing to suspect.

the thing about the a-cone is that it doesn't seem to build up --it stays on wherever, then no more on top, if that makes sense. deva had a-cone in the old formulation of one conditioner and my hair loved it. in fact, i would love to find a conditioner with the a-cone and give it a try again. the other cones continue to keep on building up.

Nope that one generally needs sulfates or coca. betaine to remove. I'll admit that I sometimes use it (very rarely) but if I follow with a low poo containing coca. betaine I'm fine.
