Protein treatment vs. reconstructor - what's the difference?

So I was looking up treatments on the Sally Beauty website since I'm planning on going to get some new products there today (I feel like such a PJ, buying all these products before I have a chance to try ones I already have, but I guess it's cheaper than my previous shoe addiction ), and when I saw both reconstructors and protein treatments, I realized I didn't know the difference. I tried to do some research and figure it out, but nothing seemed to truly clear it up.

Could someone please explain as simply as possible what the difference is? Is a protein treatment a type of reconstructor? I did a protein treatment last night (Aphogee two step) and my hair seemed to love it, so I want to make sure I understand what I'm buying. TIA

I'm a stylist. Essentially there's not a difference, other than with a reconstructor you get more protein. I consider reconstructors just to be heavy protein treatments.

Well, that depends on your hair. My hair needs strong protein, so I'm a big fan of reconstructors. I do recommend no matter what protein treatment or reconstructor you use you always follow with moisture though.
