Default Just started the CG method!?

Okay so today i washed my hair with just vo5 Conditioner. I noticed my hair was more curlier and less frizzy, but a little greasy. I usualy wash my hair everyday, and add curly hair products. So when will it stop being greasy, and look fully clean.

Also, how can I get dandruff out without using head and shoulders.

+ Starting this method. Can i still use TRESSemme mousse, aussie hair spray and other hair products other then Herbal essences gel.?

Welcome! I switched to CG just about two months ago, and it's definitely the best thing I could have done for my hair. Be patient as you and your hair adjust to the change in routine.

You said that you just used conditioner today, but did you do final sulfate wash to remove any lingering silicones in your hair? The shampoo should have sulfates but be free of any cones (ingredients that end in -cone, -cane, or -xane).

There are tons of styling products out there that are CG friendly. I think I'm more of a product junkie now than I ever was before! You want to avoid cones, unless they are water soluble (water soluble cones will have PPG or PEG listed in front). So far I've gotten my best results from LA Looks gels. It takes a lot more time to read the labels, but there's a lot out there that works. Check out the product review threads to get some ideas.

I've read that you might feel a bit greasy for a few weeks (I was using Deva Curl products for almost two years before I made the switch to CG, so I haven't had excess oil issues). If your hair feels super greasy or heavy, it's okay to wash with a sulfate-free shampoo. Some people do not co-wash at all and only low-poo when they wash their hair. You will figure out what works best for you. Another option for removing build-up is with baking soda, followed by an apple cider vinegar rinse (all of the info for this is available in the newbie section). HTH!
