Does CK loosen your curls?

I haven't used CK for a couple of years, but I did try it on 3 different occasions and every time I ended up giving up on it because it seemed to wimp out my curls by the end of the day. They started out nicely formed, but were just limp by the afternoon. I was tempted to give it another go since I would be using it in a different climate from when I originally used it, but not if it's going to loosen my curls again. Did it do this for anyone else?

It works for me in the summer. I only use a small amount under a gel. The humidity makes my hair really curly, so I didn't notice any loosening. With the cooler, drier weather, I stopped using CK b/c it was making my curls limp. I'm not sure if I will even use it again in the summer.

I never noticed this. I use, though, a teeny tiny amount. I don't find my curls are looser or limp. Well, I take that back. Once, I used too much. It just came squirting out, and I thought, no harm. I didn't have a good hair day, though.

I haven't noticed that. I use a pretty good amount considering my hair isn't as long as most on here. I don't usually need CK when it's cool but even when it's hot, I haven't noticed it taking the curl out.

I haven't used mine in a while, but I know when I used it in the winter, I put it on OVER other products, on almost dry hair.

That happens to me as well. Maybe it is the glycerin? Glycerin usually wimps out my curls. I use it occasionally in the summer, but even then I just prefer a silicone serum for frizzy hair.

Wow...a lot of variety in how people use it and how it works.

CK doesn't hold up for me in hot/humid weather. That's when I use gel, which I pretty much hate, but which will usually make it through the day.

So unlike other people, I use CK in the winter. It does keep down frizz for me in low humidity. But yes, it also tends to pull out the curl somewhat, so I try to layer it with something that's curl enhancing. I only have 2 gels that work for me, and they don't work in the winter, so CK is my winter staple. I guess I don't care too much about the curl elongation since I'm wearing a winter hat as well and my hair's going to get flat, then expand horizontally no matter what.

Glad I'm not the only one. I've always suspected it was the glycerin as well.

I think I might dig it out and try it over Boots to see if it works better that way.
