I'd like to know as well. I have the purple ones but I haven't used them yet. I'm assuming it will work fine but just take longer to dry the longer and thicker your hair is.

You should watch ericabelle89 on YouTube. She has a great tutorial on rods. She had long 3b hair. Hope that helps

They will work for anyone... it depends on what size curls you want. Soft curls big rods smaller curls smaller rods. They have different size rods. it would be best if you do it when its wet so you dont have 20 different curl pattern (Just the one you want), also pulling the hair as straight as you can and a styling product thats not to heavy would be good as well to keep the rods in place. there are to types of curls you can get with a rod wavy curls or spirals curls. starting from the bottom of your hair and the rod rolling the rod up in a spiral motion will create a spiral. starting from the top of your hair and the rod rapping your hair around the rod(not moving the rod just your hair) will create a wavy curls. just note before you leave the store check and make sure the rods will been, some are funny acting. hope this helps you. i know its a year late, but better late then never. let me know how it came out.

I have a set that I bought on Amazon that comes with all of the available sizes. I love to use the purple ones to get big soft waves. BUT the only way that I can get my hair to stay in those waves is to sleep in the rods. Its comfortable enough for me to get a good night's sleep but I'm terrified that I'm breaking all of my hair off. Does anyone know whether sleeping on flexi rods two to three times a week will wreck my hair? (I have medium/fine, 2b hair.)
