Does anyone else still need to shampoo?

I use a sulfate shampoo every 7 - 10 days. If I don't then I start getting dandruff.
3B/3C hair, very dry
shoulder-length
coloured strawberry blonde with lighter blonde and red stripes

"I've had enough. This is my prayer. That I'll die living just as free as my hair."
It looks as if low-poo may be the answer to my prayers! I find that my hair is always kind of dry, but yet greasy at the roots if I don't wash it...lots of fun I'll admit I'm not very well versed on all of these product ingredients- although I have tried to educate myself I don't generally check labels very carefully. I don't know if what I am using is a sulfate shampoo, (or if it contains "cones" for that matter.) Anyway, I may try the low-poo. Are you referring the the Devachan product or are there many different brands?
Curly for 18 months and not looking back!

I have a sulfate free poo, a sulfate poo, and a medicated dandruff shampoo that I'm sure has sulfates and I use them according to how my hair feels and looks. I also just do cowashing as well.
TYPE: 3C
Current State: Growing out keratin treatment.
High Density, Medium Porosity
Length: MBL stretched
Doing what I want when I want! Getting tempted to bkt the nape save me lol
Winter, there are tons of sulfate-free poos, aka lo-poos, besides Deva. The Deva one is ok and pretty gentle, but doesn't clean very well imo. Whole Foods has many lo-poos, like Giovanni and Aubrey Organics and Kinky Curly. There are also drugstore ones but you have to really read labels, things can hide in those... You could also search lo-poo recs here and you will find tons of options without having to read labels!
FIA: 2b-c/f/i, normal porosity/elasticity I think?

Current favs:
lo-poo: Giovanni
Co-Wash: V05 Kiwi Lime
RO: CJ Beauticurls,
LI: Ouidad Botanical Boost
PT/DT: Emergencee, Biolage Condish Balm
Stylers: LALSG, Aussome Volume Gel
I use shampoo each every time I wash my hair. If I don't, my hair feels gross.
3a/3b spirals and the occasional ringlet
M/iii
Normal porosity

Products I use:

Shampoo: Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Shampoo
Conditioner: Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Conditioner
DT: Matrix Biolage Hydratherapie Aqua-Immersion Creme Masque
Styling: Homemade FSG with Lavender EO & AVJ/water mist spray containing Epsom Salt, Lavender EO

I use shampoo, the no poo method makes my hair feel thicker and my curls much tighter and overall just harder to manage and more time consuming. Shampoo just works for me and keeps my hair looking the way I want it to. My hair is healthy and it's growing back fast so I don't think using it is an issue.

I tried cowashing it doesn't work for me so I use shampoo

Sent from my VS910 4G using CurlTalk App
I have dry ends and greasy roots, I have to poo about once a week or my roots and scalp get totally grody. I'll dilute a small bit sulfate shampoo with water and concentrate the cleaning at my roots, and rinse it out quickly. I condition my roots with a lighter conditioner like SN Aloe, and focus the thicker conditioners on the length of my hair and especially the ends. This seems to be what is working best for me right now.
fine, thin, normal/(low?) porosity. Mod-CG. Usually I can't co-wash more than 1x a week, & sometimes I have to use T-Gel in rotation due to scalp issues.

Co-wash: VO5 Volumizing
Poo: Giovanni 50:50
RO:TN, Nexxus Youth Renewal, Alba Coconut
LI: KCKT
PT: gelatin PT, ION EC
Stylers: Giovanni mousse, TIGI Curls Rock amplifier (a-cone), Curls Rock Strong Hold Mousse
Gels: SCC spray gel

Shampoo-er all the way lol. Never even entertained the thought of not using shampoo. I like lather and bubbles lol.

I still use Shampoos-- I have to since I live in an area with very hard water. If I don't wash my hair at least once a week my hair starts to feel scaley from the water... it's gross.

My hair gets weighed down very easily so I can only do the co-wash once a week and low poo every other wash or else my curls just droop entirely lifeless and coated.

Me definitely. Even using 100% natural products like flaxseed gel and olive oil I still need shampoo to get it all out.
Hair Type: 3b/3c (I think! lol)

Quit using heat 9 months ago
I low-poo as needed with ION Color Defense Clarifying Shampoo (I don't have color-treated hair, but it's sulfate free, and I like it). I don't use a sulfate shampoo unless for some reason I've let someone put silicones or something else weird in my hair (which is seldom). I prefer just co-washing, but it seems I low-poo about once a week right now. Just gotta do what works for you!

I absolutely need to low poo once a week or once every 9 days at the most. I cowash in middle of the week but if I don't use shampoo my scalp and hair start to feel gunky. I clarify once a month.

Yes, I need to shampoo. Co-washing didn't work for me. It left my hair weighed down and greasy. I try to shampoo only once or twice a week and I'm careful to use a great conditioner.

Just do what works best for you.
