Favorite Sally's products?
 

Just wondering what everyone's favorite Sally's products are? I'll be going later today and most likely won't be able to for a few weeks. My hair is fine with normal porosity and elasticity, so any recommendations would be helpful. TIA :)

Thanks everyone for your responses. I went today (to pick something up for my mom) and might go tomorrow. I already have the big tub of Ecostyler with protein and two tiny sample sizes of the Ecostylers with Argon oil and Moroccan oil, but I've only had a chance to try out the one with protein and had okay results. I looked at the GVP Conditioning Balm because it's mentioned so many times on the boards as such a good product, but I'm slightly worried that it might weigh down my fine hair. My hair isn't super fine, so it may not be an issue, but I didn't want to buy it unless I was sure. The only conditioners I've used lately are Tresemme Naturals and GFTN, is it similar to either of those in how heavy it is?

I've used GVP CB and really like it. For me, it is more moisturizing then tresemme naturals and less moisturizing then GFTN. I find it way less heavy then GFTN. If you can use GFTN, GVP CB shouldn't weigh you down. Of coarse all this stuff varies from person to person.

I use sally's version of k-pak for a protein treatment once a month (if your hair handles protein well, you should try it).
For a clarifying low poo occasionally (if I feel like I have some kind of build up or before a protein treatment), I use ION Color Defense Clarifying Shampoo (my hair isn't colored, but that doesn't matter, it's sulfate free and gentle)
I use Biotera Leave-In Conditioner
I use Beyond the Zone Noodle Head Tame your Curls Mousse
I am experimenting right now with biotera curl creme and biotera styling gel

@Pedaheh, thanks for the comparisons, I think I'm definitely gonna pick it up tomorrow and if it's too heavy I'll just use it for DT since I don't really have anything for that. Hopefully I'll have as good luck as you do :)

@curlyev, I'll have to check how the GVP k-pak to see how the smell is. I smelled the Joico one and I could tell the smell would have given me a headache. And I agree, Sally's is awesome; the only thing that would make it more awesome is if they had more CG friendly products.

I noticed that you are using the V05 Kiwi Lime to co-wash. I just started trying it a few days ago. I was using Suave Naturals Wild Cherry Blossom, but I decided to see how V05 would be. How do you like it? I have to use quite a bit of it to co-wash, do you have to use a lot too?

I love the Kiwi Lime, mainly for the scent but also because it's not a heavy conditioner. I usually use two or three half dollar sized puddles to get through all of my hair and feel like it gets to my scalp, and then I give myself a little head massage for a good 3-4 minutes to make sure it's getting all the dirt and oils. When I rinse it out, I also make sure to give myself another scalp massage to get it all out, and those steps seem to do the job for me. I think the big part of why it works for me is that it's a clarifying conditioner rather than one that's meant to moisturize, so it's not as heavy for me. I tend to use it probably 2-3 times a week and low poo once a week.

I used this a long long time ago (probably 5-6 years) and I didn't feel like it was moisturizing enough as a RO (before I was CG), but I was so sad to give up the scent. When I found out I could use it for going CG, I was ecstatic. Hopefully it works as well for you as it does for me :) HTH and let me know if you have any other questions.

Totally forgot ... I am also experimenting with the biotera products. I like that the gel is so easy to apply, but I'm not sure it has enough hold. I think I get better results using it for 2nd day hair

I recently rediscovered and just LOVE GVP Paul Mitchell Styling Foam (the conditioning one, NOT the extra body one). I used this a few years ago when I first went curly and just stopped I think because I started being a product junkie. Picked some up last week and it's awesome, my hair loves it, and it has the greatest coconut smell.

Thanks. Since I like all the stuff I've tried from your list, I jotted down a few things I haven't tried yet for my wishlist. Fake tan with coconut oil sounds awesome.

I ended up getting duckbill clips to try clipping out and the GVP Balm to save money. I bought so much stuff recently I really shouldn't buy anything else but the PJ in me doesn't want to stop lol. I feel like I have so stuff I'll be testing new stuff and new combinations for the next few weeks.

Just wanted to comment about the GVP conditioning balm. I find it thicker/heavier than both the Tresemme and GFTN but it didn't weigh down my hair like the GFTN.

I just tried it today after I dyed my hair for my DT and it worked really well for that. I also thought it was thicker than Tresemme and GFTN, but not in a bad way. I personally liked it, and may not use it every time I wash my hair, but it's a nice conditioner.
