For long Hair Naturals (Is it hard?)

Now that i'm 21 months natural I remember at 12 months when I did twist outs it took 10 minutes, now it takes 20 minutes, sometimes 30.

Also i'm in the natural game for the long haul I want really long hair, and I was thinking like how does it change financially when your hair gets longer?

Because I know the products must run out faster (especially conditioner)

what changes have you made as a long haired natural? For my future reference
feedback anyone

My hair is mid back length and I admit I go through way more products than most people. I basically have to restock on conditioner once a week and styler once I month unless I catch good sales and stock up. For that reason I don't try expensive products and keep my purchases under $10 except for my shea butter which I buy once ever 3 to 4 months.

Honestly once your hair gets longer you'll probably stick with a signature style that doesn't require much energy and will last as long as you want. For me, that style is a braid or banded ponytail to the side. I keep it moisturized and I might not touch it again until a) Sunday when I use bentonite clay to detox it or b) I feel like wearing it down or trying something new. Long hair is so versatile. If you don't feel like being bothered, it's easy to put it up in a cute undo. There have been weeks at a time I wear my hair up for that reason. As your hair gets longer the simpler you can make your routine the better.

My hair is WL stretched and I have found that is has gotten easier. The longer my hair gets the less I need to do to it to look good. Now product wise I do go through more (especially conditioner) when I wash and style. But the flip side of that is that I am able to wash and style less (once a week vs. every three days).
Liking this thread! I am trying to get my hair to WL stretched also...i had WL hair when relaxed and i didn't really use as much product as i do now(until i started transitioning).... What are your staples that you buy at such long lengths and thick hair?

I'm figuring i'll have to buy liter sizes of everything...i already need to start doing that now!

It doesn't take me any longer to do my long hair as long as I keep the ends trimmed and keep it healthy. Your curl might pull out slightly, but that can create really pretty curls too.

I'm lovin that everyone is saying it's getting easier and I figured the conditioner would be pricey,Everyone keeps thier regimens the same?

I love washing my hair I can't see me not washing it once a week but when it gets longer who knows how often i'll wash it

When my hair was shorter I use to wash almost everyday now at most I wash every two days unless I'm experimenting. I've always used drug store conditioners and if they don't have big size I don't try it. Herbal essence and pantene are my stables. For stylers I use Sheamoisture smoothie and xtreme gel. That hasn't changed. I have incorporated evoo and coconut oil as well as shea butter to keep my hair moisturized since I don't wash every day.

The main thing with long hair is to pay attention to the ends because they're the oldest and most fragile. I add extra conditioner, moisturizer, and sealant to the last 3in of my hair.

25 months natural. I have pretty much started shifting towards drugstore BSS brands. I switched back to Tresemme naturals as my detangling and styling conditioner because it was about to start getting expensive

I buy my Dominican deep conditioners online. I also love Oyin Hair Dew....so as my hair gets longer that would probably be the only things i buy online regularly.

Forgive me if this post is unnecessary...i've been cramping all day and i'm severely medicated!

I'm currently bsl stretched and my regimen has been the same for over a year and I still use several products that I used when I had an inch of hair. I do focus more on moisturizing my ends because they are older but that's it. I think longer hair is easier. If my hair looks a mess in the morning, I just put it in a bun.

People should be willing to stand by the things they say. Or they shouldn't say them. If your opinion can't stand in the light of day...maybe it should stay in the dark...in your head?
